Death Watch

Am I dying today?1

The neverending question.2

Watching, waiting, knowing Death will come, announced or unannouced. He prays each day for God to save his soul.3

He prays each day for God to take him home.4

The hint of death always overhead.5

But wait what's this?6

You find your mother dead.7

She lies so still.8

No answer to her name.9

How can this be?10

Your Moma, she is dead.11

Your friend, your strength to get you through the death that waits at home.12

Her chair is empty like your heart.13

Loneliness sets in.14

How will your cope?15

For death awaits to take your husband home.16

You will be left behind with no one to hold your hand.17

Do you have the strength to live or will you choose to die?18

This is full of pain and saddness. On some strange level I can relate. The loneliness I suppose. Thank you for sharing such an emotional piece.

This really shows emotion, which is nice in poetry! Very depressing, but nice job!!! I enjoyed reading it!
