anteria: changes

Ra wanted revenge. Ra wanted to kill the non-minican boy the one that racked havoc on Ra's people the boy had fire in his eyes he could see that even at the distance between them. This was no longer about getting food this was about hot revenge. Ra smiled a dark grin as he carefully constructed his fire-bomb 1

Father and I were on a mission, well sort of. 3

“I have to admit minicans have tasty food.” I said as I finished my 'tehi'. It was a burrito only filled with baked vegetables. The market was full of 'laberless' day activity. Minicans talked, children played in the central park, and all was good. 4

“Let's try the food in there”. father pointed to the large pod on the left. We ducked inside and were stopped by a female minican. “leta vera... Oh wait its you! She came close and in a hiss said “ I don't like you, I should kill you right now”, then in a 180 degree turn of attitude, just joke come on in and have some wine 'on the house', as you would say.5

She sat down and another minican shoved a drink in our hand. “this is the strongest stuff we have,” He said in a gruffly voice.6

But I didn't pay attention I scanned my surroundings and was caught eye to eye with a strange but surprisingly gorgeous minican. This was the first time I wasn't actually repulsed by the creatures.7

Then her face turned to anger. ”Yes I you hadn't noticed,” she hissed ,“I'm different.”8

with that she ran off into the bottom of the pod and slammed the hatch shut behind her. . Father put his drink down and grabbing my arm led me outside.9

I don't know why but I felt compeled to go after her to talk to her to spend my life with her.10

I burst back into the pod, startling everybody. Throwing open the bottom latch, I saw her and her beauty overwhelmed me. “I ..I ..need to.. I love you!”11

“I know”12

We talked throughout the day. Her name is sesha. 13

“How did you get to anteria?”14

“Well on earth they, using me and my fathers equations, built a wormhole from here to there.”15

“A what hole?”16

“Yeah I guess you don't know what a worm is!”17

I picked up an round vegetable and a sharp pick. I made two notches on opposite ends “imaging this is the universe and we live in its surface.” Now whats the shortest distance between this point and that point? 18

“A straight line.”19

I smiled, geometry seems to be universal. “so instead of taking a curved line around the universe” I said as I poked through the vegetable “ you can take a shortcut through it. 20

“I lied” she said. “I knew all that already. you see I am part sinion and sinions have the ability to see into the future.” 21

I didn't believe her, and was saddened and angered that she would lie to me not just about not knowing but lying about seeing into the future. I knew she couldn't possibly have known about me and my trip here, she couldn't. I got up and grabbing a bemused (drunk) father we left the place. Just before leaving I looked back she smiled, “This isn't the end of us!” 22

we eventually made it to the central library which now that we were out of prison had many more sections open to us. I sat a sobering father down and got to work. Lately we have been studying minican culture. The culture varies from city to city. Yes there are more minican cities. There are different dialects of the same common language and yes there is what could be considered as slang although their language is more dynamic then ours. Where in theirs language flows from slang to official very easily and there are new words everyday.23

As far dress they all dress according to necessity which is to dress very warmly for the water around them can be very cold. I realized this much upon coming to this world and have dressed this way myself.24

As this worldis so volumetric it's not surprising to me that their art work is so 3-d. Also since this culture seems to be so 'old' historically they have gone through every style imaginable. In this book some examples of work immortalized by the relatively new technology of lightgraphing, showed amazing landscapes , portraits , and abstract. I looked around to get a quick study of their literature after all I'm in a library I was about to pick up a wrapping of paper when a shock-wave slammed into the library. 25

I was knocked to my feet as the whole library shifted at its core. I heard a noise, or rather an absence of noise. With a sickening realization I knew what was about to happen.26

“Dad, dad, wake up the powers out. The monopoles are going out” I screamed as a wall of water flooded in through the doorway. Bookshelves, tables and papers all strewn about as the water began flooding over our heads. “Father we have to get out of here.” 27

“It's too late Chris the entrance is underwater.” finally the water halted its deadly upard march. We, father and I, and a mother, and her kid floated just floated. The kids screams and our cries echoed through the air bubble that has formed around us. The minican mother motioned towards a hole in the roof. I saw that there was a bubble inside a metallic contraption. It's an escape pod I realized.28

“Dad over here!”29

“No,” sighed the minican “the switch for the ladder is underwater we can't get down there, it is too far” 30

“tell me where it is a pull it”said father.31

“No, father”, I said as tears ran down my face. “You won't make it back for air.”32

“Son,” he said with a calming smile,” do me a favor and bring these people together, and make sure they live in peace.” With that he turned to the mincan mother who told him were to go. After that he, with the weight of three lives on his shoulders told me good buy. Me being stubbornly introverted, didn't hear him. 33

I watched my son and the strangers all who I would soon give my life to. I dived and swam through the cold water as fast as I could. The water pressed against my ears and chest but I pushed on.35

The image of my son's smiling face entered my mind a rare vista but to any father it is always well worth the wait. I finally reached a last turn and noticed the switch. I quickly flipped it and waited. It felt like an eternity but I finally heard the escape pod disconnect from the library. I knew it was no use to try to swim back, I just let the darkness pull itself over me.36

I walked the shores of anteria in shock. Father was dead. The entire mincan city destroyed flooded with all, save the tho others,every minican man, woman, and child.37

Why?38

I fell.39

The fell the pain was too much too hear.40

I sobbed.41

A light touch on my shoulder startled me.42

I quickly taught of killing her. As she must be behind this all.43

But the look in her, eyes and the tears on her face told me otherwise.44

”I'm sorry.”45

shock and disbelief took me over “ you knew this would happen.”46

s she slowly nodded her head. 47

“Why didn't you stop it!”My screams echoed off the rock around us because Chris it was inevitable.48

You see the sinions have a phrase “you can't stop the wheel in motion”49

“the sinions!”50

she simply nodded51

“I'll kill them all!”52

I began to run furiously toward no particular direction. Then I stopped sesha was behind me “anteria is a hard place to live in you will need some help”53

Chapter 254

I don't know why she followed or why she's even helping me. Its her society I wish to destroy, her people I crave to eliminate. We hiked up to a large rocky outcrop,where a grass-like plant swayed in the shallow breeze. The air is thinner in this particular place. So I couldn't easily start a fire.55

Sesha produced a contraption that sparked when it turned 56

“Is that a Sinion device? She nodded, it was my mothers. Curiosity had the best of me.57

“Yeah how did that work?”58

“Well lets call it as it happened: I was born out of lust and not love.”59

I instantly knew what she meant. 60

“I'm sorry”61

“My father took me I never saw a sinion city or,” a tear ran down here face, “met my mother or my brother. He took me and put ideas in my head about how evil sinions are.”62

There was a long pause.63

“But now I know the sinions are evil. father was right.”64

“You know my father said the exact opposite. So how did you know about the attack today?”65

Sesha went into a detailed description of future sight.66

“Well, you see, I can see whats going to happen. She said wiping away the last tear.”67

“like a vision?”I asked bewilderedly.68

“No, It's as if I see things as they are now, and how they are going to be.” 69

your going to have to explain it better I...I just don't understand.70

“Say someone drops a nup, sorry a sort of fruit, I can see it halfway falling, and at the same time see its path down to the ground, and see someone pick it up, and if I push my mind I can see him eat it and so on forever.71

“So... I said slowly you have no limit to how far or well detailed you can see”.72

“well its not that easy. You see every choice I make has an offshoot ,a different future. If I push my mind on moving my hand I will see my hand move....” 73

“This is incredible I exclaimed!” then rattled off every question I could think of.74

she hushed me, “its not that easy”she said with a shake of her head. “Every decision I make at every possible moment presents a new vision. Sometimes my view is clear and sometimes it is a cluttered blur. And Chris you never know how one decision will effect you future in so many ways.75

I took note to remember that advice. 76

Chapter 377

Seeing the bare rock in it flowing sculpture-like pattern amazes one. But yet I am sad. Losing my father has put me in a deep slump. Over the next few days I have only recored. Like a heartless computer I have documented the rock 78

Dating the rock is near impossible because there is no traditional strata.79

On larger rock structures where there is air and wind there is a layer of soil with plant life. It comes in two kinds either a grass like plant or a large glowing globe. The globes are particularly interesting because they come in a variety of colors and light up the darkness in brilliant shades. Also on large structures animals can even roam.80

I attempted a hike up towards a thinner spire of exposed rock. This was dangerous because there was little gravity here and almost no air. I studied the rock careful not to float into the void between the rock. It was at that moment that I realized that I am like the exposed rock where I used to be like the life giving soil near where Sesha was now. But the elements have worn me down to the barren self.81

I realized then that to survive in this place, as the glowing plants do around me, I must be soft like soil not hard like rock. I must conform to the element but not simply react blindly and at the same time I must stand rigid.82

I thought then it occurred to me, I must forget father. 83

A tear ran down my cheeks as I pushed him from my life. But there was on thing I must do before I erase him from my mind. I must do as he did before he left that final time. I must bring peace to Sinions and Minicans 84

chapter 485

Ra was pleased the destruction from the fire-bomb was more then he expected the entire city was destroyed! He was overjoyed as the water turned a crimson red. He watched the crippled bodies float to the top mangled by the water's pressure.86

Ra smiled to himself as he left the scene.87

He traveled in what he thought was the direction he came. He walked and climbed and never came across his home. After a few days Ra admitted to himself he was lost. He was cold, weak, and disoriented.88

It was then that he realized what he was looking at two unspeakably large columns of glass. Ra hurled a stone at it. It didn't break like glass. He also noticed another thing these objects are clear like water but did not bend light like water. A distant glowing plant threw a sharp shadow on to the ground in this hollow part in the rock. Ra was mystified as the same light refused to give the crystals shadows. He stared at the crystals thinking how he could use this against the Minicans. 89

Ra sat at the ledge and pushed his mind forward. In his mind he traveled up along the rock and found nothing and all while sitting on that ledge, probing every future path that was available. But he was so weak and this area was so deprived of water and food there was no chance of survival.90

Every mind push resolved his dad malnutritioned body lying in place. He sighed loudly and began the journey towards death. 91

Ra reached his end, he pushed and pushed but could no longer travel. He passed out.92

A warmth filled ra happiness abounded as he opened his eyes. But his attitude soon turned to horror he was in a Minican home. Ra saw he was a minican boy. He was in the underworld he thought. He tried to scream but couldn't. He was just the viewer in this vision. He tried to view the future but couldn't. His arm swung out and grabbed a book. The minican mother walked over and picked Ra up then set him in her lap.93

Ra felt love!94

These creatures are capable of love?!95

Ra watched as he sounded out letters to a simple story. When they were finished. The boy smiled to his mother while Ra inside cried to himself.96

Had he been right to destroy them?97

Ra heard something, the, the cries of minivans, “firebomb, firebomb!”98

thats when there was a brilliant flash and everything around him disintegrated into a fury of destruction. Then blackness. The vision is done.99

Ra howled in anger.100

Rage at himself.101

Where was he now?102

Another anterian city surrounded him. And was sinion again but it didn't matter every on was dead everywhere he look was death.103

Disease Ra realized. 104

“But what can I do?!”Ra shouted at himself. Pause... then for no apparent reason he knew his answer get the mincans to the crystal, get them to work together and it will cure them.105

Ra awoke he was no longer on the cold lump of rock he was in a strange pod. He recognized it as minican he pushed his mind and smiled.106

Chapter 5 107

“It spoke to me!”108

“But how?” asked the king.109

That we don't know it seems to have some kind of telecommunication.”110

“ it calls it mind link” said the guard, “it showed me how a disease... a disease will kill us all.” 111

king Epa nodded his head. “Report has it that several cities have been destroyed by a virus.”112

Everyone was shocked. This was unheard of the king sighted as if a load has been lifted from his shoulders. “What's next?”113

the guard spoke up from his quietness. It showed me a large crystal. It will cure us only if we become allies with the sinions. But no one believed him.114

Epa looked toward his messenger. “Begin burning the sick.”115

This was the end Ra thought sadly. They obviously didn't believe his message, and now they want to dissect him to find out how his mind works.116

Not that Ra isn't curious himself but that would most likely result in his death 117

He touched his nely grown antennae acquired after the vision he had. This must be how the mind-link works.118

Ra pushed his mind and watched as he hours passed. Then he was horrified as a minican ran into the room slammed his face into the wall and then collapsed dead. 119

Ra returned to present and noticed a minican guard, that same minican guard shivering with fright. The guard had seen the future sight vision through Ra's mind-link. I must learn to control that Ra thought.120

With shaky hands the guard pulled the keys from his pocket and with patients unlocked the prison door. “Take us to our crystal.” 121

Chapter 6122

How was he going to get them out there was he going to smuggle ra out and get to the crystal himself, but then again he said 'us'.123

Then it hit Ra. The shattered glass case,the guard holding the gun and the screams the guard was going to force them out there. 124

It then occurred to Ra to use his mind-link [i won't tell you where the crystal is if you do it this way.]125

I don't care he shot back.126

That was it. Thats what this disease is at it's core: a creator of violence.127

With all new pressure to get them healed Ra struggled out of the guard's tightening grip. He scurried as fast as his feet could take him. The guard slammed his fist into the stone wall and venomously shouted “escaped prisoner, get 'em”128

“yes!!”thats exactly the response Ra was looking for. All the quards were chasing after him. Ra escaped through the door just as someone was exiting. Now Ra, who was reveling in the moment, was attracting citizens. He had them eating out of his hand. About half the town was after him and had the crystal in sight. 129

It was at that moment that a ripple much lke tat in a pond spread throughout Anteria. Shearing and reflecting of rock walls, it spread a message to all mincans and even Ra.130

The sinion was gone the giant mysterious crystal had vanished.131

He was paralyzed but at once was moving. Everything was out of his control. The guard was a prisoner in a sinion's body! The sinion peered around. This was war. He could smell blood see body parts. But could hear only ringing: his hearing is gone. His body ran toward a brilliant shimmering sea-city, Anteria.132

The it happened: he felt the heat, a boiling blast of rolling air then a shock-wave that pushed and pulled at once. He could feel every bone break and every organ rupture but still he lied there and lied there until finally saw a vision.133

Ra also had a vision. Ra was home! But he couldn't see anything then he saw it, death. Everywhere there where dead sinions. He pushed his mind. Every city was dead.134

Sinions were not immune.135

The crystal also gave them one more thing a cure.136

chapter 7 137

They were next. Ra emerged from his vision with the roar of sobs emanating from some minicans while others stood in shock. Ra discovered that they had seen, no lived through sinion death, through his mind-link.138

But Ra saw the opportunity. He climbed to where he would be visible to all with. With his mind-link he shouted [minican don't fear you can help us and we can make allies. My friends simply use an anti-virus made from your blood, it will cure the sinions who are in desperate need of our help.]139

prologue140

today was the day. Today Ra will gain a wife and become royalty all at once. The girl literally of his dreams was his. He has seen visions of her before visions so clear he could envision himself wrapping himself around her neck in love. But he hadn't met her before. Ra is destined to meet her only at the royal wedding Ra described her to the minican priest who took it upon himself to find her.141

The sun was directly above if it could be seen and it was time for the wedding to begin. 142

Ra and his mother scampered slowly down the isle keeping an eye on the other side of the enclosure. On his side of the space was his family now that every one had become allies a full protection from virus' have been bestowed on them all. He made it to the center of the space to a pedestal. He stood in front while mom stood to the right. Then she appeared. She was gorgeous with deep green eyes and brilliant silver blond hair. She slowly walked over to her side of the pedestal with her mother. “Hi, my name is Shua”143

“I know.” Ra giggled. 144

As she found her place near the pedestal Shua's mother went to Ra's left. The ceremony has begun. With a few words by both parties and an approving nod by both parties signified the end of a wonderfull wedding. 145
