Just Another Avenger: Prologue

People didn't love me. They were in love with the light from my brother that reflected off of me. They saw me as perfect, flawless, unbreakable, to the point of being unhuman.1

I cannot blame them, because my brother was exactly that. But then, I was not my brother. I was more than a mythical figure who always did everything right.2

I made mistakes.3

But that didn't stop me from being afraid to make them. Every time I did anything wrong, people were disappointed in me -- more disappointed than they had any right to be. They would never have been so shocked -- so let down -- if it had been anyone else. If any other dobe failed, that was perfectly normal. It was part of growing. It could be fixed. Yet, if it was I who performed poorly, something had to be wrong. Was I sick? Was I feeling unwell? Or maybe I wasn't trying hard enough. Because I was an Uchiha.4

I was ~his~ brother.5

Yes, his brother. That automatically made me like him in every which way. I would have to be exactly like him, a prodigy excelling at everything I tried my hand at. Well, what if I didn't want to excell? That was not my choice to make, I was told. And even if I performed well, played up to my expectations, I received no praise. Because it had already been done. Was I nothing but a replica? No.6

I was human.7

And yet, I was not. At times it seemed I was nothing but a blank wall fated to soak up the attributes everyone wanted to see in me. None of them were mine, but they were seen in me all the same. People took me and gave me whatever qualities they desired, seeing me however they wished me to be. But my qualities were my own. I would not bend to the will of every idiot who happened to notice me.8

Especially not hers.

Author notes

Disclaimer: Uchiha Sasuke is from Naruto / Naruto Shippuden and belongs to Kishimoto-sensei.

I know this piece was incredibly short... *sweatdrop* Oh well, I guess it's okay since it's a prologue. I write too much fanfiction... But I can't help it -- it's addicting. In case anyone cares, I've been working on characters for an original story. ...Of course, I have no plot for it yet.

Anyways, I've never actually completed a fanfiction that had separate parts. I've always done one-shot fanfics. I started a couple fanfics that had separate parts (chapters?), but I got bored of them and quit. So... I have a goal to finish this one. Can I do it?

Lee: If you cannot do it, you must do 400 laps around Konoha! And if you cannot do that, you must do 500 push-ups! And if you cannot do that, you must lose a bet to Tsunade... 600 times! And if you cannot do that, you must do 700--

Grace: There's no way I can do any of that. ...Guess that means I have to finish the fanfic.

Lee: YOSH!! =]

Thanks for reading. ^^ Comment, please?

Do you write AU fanfics? If so, take the plot from those and use your own chars. That's what I did for a few of mine: Alley Oop, The Black Panther, For the Love of the Game, etc.

I stopped following Shippuden - it's longer than the original Naruto, now! o__________0 HURRY UP AND FINISH IT, KISHIMOTO-SAN!!!! Cause then I'll read it.

Try Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino. I LOVED that one. It sort-of inspired Van Helsing.

...if I had an idea, I might write another Naruto fanfic. Unfortunately, I'm more for stoopid ones like The Sasuke That Stole Christmas than for serious ones. I dunno...

I've rambled long enough. Why don't I stop talking and start working on G-lock and VHI??? *Graham kicks Chibi in the butt* Chibi: TT.TT OOOOWWWWWWW.....

    • I've never done an AU fanfic before, but I want to try it. I had an idea for this one as an AU fic, but I've been really lazy lately so it might take a while for me to actually write it. >.> I haven't read that much of Shippuden, but I sometimes find spoilers while looking for fan art.

      Ooooh, I love Vampire Knight! I just started reading that a couple months ago, and it was awesome. I've only read four or five volumes, but I really want more. I like Zero, but then I also like Kaname... ^^;

Hehe, stupid fanfics are awesome too. I loved the Sasuke That Stole Christmas. Yes, go work on Gridlock! VHI too. ^^

Yes, this was short, but it's okay because long Prologues are BORING! XD
I've always wanted to write a story from only one point of view, but that, to me, would be boring not to know what every one was thinking, so yeah, I don't do it. ^^ But I would like to know what Sasuke is thinking....like what he thinks about "Her".
Well, I really do hope you finish this story 'cause I really like reading your stories.
Well, I think this is long enough, so yeah, BYE!

Thanks for reading. =) And actually, I don't think the story is going to be all from one point of view. I'm thinking of alternating the chapters, like the first chapter would be from Sasuke's point of view, the second would be from Sakura's, then Sasu's, than Saku's, and so on... Do you think that's a good idea?
