Halloween Ending [Introduction]

I love Autumn. The cool refreshing air from a hot steamy summer. The beautiful color of the leaves as the change from green to oranges and reds and purples and browns. Especially in October. Oh, and we cannot forget to mention my favorite holiday is also in the fall: Halloween.1

October 31. I always loved dressing up as a little kid. Dressing up as Snow White in her little costume. One year dressing up as Cinderella in a shiny blue puffy dress that I loved. And as I got older, dressing up as dead brides, or zombies, vampires, preps. I never grew out of going trick-or-treating either. Even now, at 19, I still go trick or treating. I have not missed one year. Sure, I’ve said I would stop, not trick or treat. I attempted to pass out candy a few years. That never lasted long. I always get the urge to go trick-or-treating.2

I really don’t know why I never grew out of that stage. This year, I want to go trick-or-treating, although I’m not sure I will. My life has taken a different turn. I’m living on my own, well not technically, I’m just out of my parents house. I’m living with my fiancé, Mike, who’s just as much of a kid as I am when it comes to Halloween. I don’t know, maybe its because his birthday is not too far from Halloween. I have to take care of myself now. I have to be a big girl. And I live in a new town, with new friends, adults as they call them. They are still close to my age, but adults.3

Charlotte, who doesn’t look a day over 17, although she is 22. She has golden eyes, which reminds me so much of Autumn, and dark hair. She’s always pale, no matter what. It’s kind of odd, I’d say. She has a sister named Farrah, who I don’t really get along with very well. Farrah has the same eye color and pale complexion, but other than that, they look nothing alike. They live in a really awesome house just outside of town. I don’t really go over there that often, because Farrah always seems rude to me.4

There’s also Edward. Edward is georgous. He has a light amber eye color, dark wavy hair. He’s really tall and extremely muscular. He can run pretty fast, but he doesn’t normally around “us slow people” as he calls us. He treats me like a little sister. If he wasn’t too old for me, I’d be marrying him instead of Mike. But he’s sadly 29, and the older brother of my friend. He isn’t like Farrah, the way he treats me or Mike. He acts like a guardian for us. He says he protects us from things that could happen that we just don’t know about. He has his secrets about that, but we don’t budge.5

So this year, instead of trick-or-treating, I will be an adult. There’s going to be a carnival in town, and Charlotte, Edward, Mike, and I are going to hang out. And my best friend from back home Cloey, is coming up to visit for a few days.6

Charlotte says Farrah is working one of the shows that night, a vampire thrill thing. It sounds interesting, but when I gave a look to Mike saying we should go to make fun of Farrah (Mike really seems to enjoy that), Edward gave us a dark look and shook his head and said “Absolutely NOT. You will NOT go. I won’t allow it. From what Farrah says, it’ll be too dangerous. Especially since Cloey will be here. I have an extra person to keep an eye on. As your protector I do not want you to go near it.” So from what I’m guessing, we are just gonna be riding a few rides and enjoying crappy carnival food together. Oh what fun what fun.
