"Wintertide"

Mounds of crysline snow glittered against the cerulian sky. Olivia couldn't help but smile at the rich mountains of the snowy sand. Stepping forward in black suede boots, she sunk in the powdery white ground like a sandman retreating to his sandy, underground haven. It was not merely cold in Rancovia, but frigid. Surrounding the heaping mounds of snow and the frozen pond in the middle of the square with sheets of ice blanketing the surface, were large and sparce oak trees. The season had come where the once brilliantly colored leaves were plucked violently from their homes by the great Mother Nature. She had an icy temper around the winter, not one leaf or dry part of land would be spared from her wintery reign. Olivia pulled her golden hair back into a pony tail, the white fluff of snow transformed her hair into a bad case of dandruff. She looked around the land with wide eyes, like beautiful marbles of the finest emerald, the light of the stark white wonderland reflected off them and admitted powerful illumination. She was an angelic girl, almost elfin in apperance with a statuesque figure. She wore a pomegranate coat made of the finest wool, and a matching plum scarf. In the land of Rancovia, the reigns belonged to her. A loud cracking sounded the clearing and drew her attention towards the frozen pond in the center. Her eyes began to widen as the sheets of ice shedded from its core and submerged into the antarctic water. As she watched beds of ice peel away in succession a figure emerged. Towering over her, the alpine beast was congealed in a milky white fluid. Shedding it's cocoon the creature hovered above her. It's radient sanguine eyes flowed with radiance as it reached out a hooked hand and managed what seemed to be a smile.1

"Oliva" It said, "I have been expecting you. Please follow me as you are in the midst of preperation for your ceremony. The Winterman await."2

Olvia took a step forward and accepted the Creature's token of friendship as they both vanished into the subterranean depths of below. 3

What the winter winter wonderland was about to bestow on her, was far more amazing then she could of ever imagined.

Very good! Although I was looking for more of what YOU thought of what YOUR wonderland was. Sorry it took so long to judge; I've been really lately. Good luck in the contest!
