Fall of Verdantia (Chapter 3)

The house was stone. It had a victorian look to it. The tall windows revealed most of the first and second story to be covered with magnificent red curtains . There was an old fashioned veranda that was surrounded by white rose vines. 1

The house was amazing with it's architecture and design. The only strange thing about it was it's bell tower that stood roughly three stories high. 2

All of the houses that belonged to the school had towers, except for one, the House ''H''. 3

Saedy opened the giant oak door and gleefully helped Margo with her stuff. "You don't have to knock, this is now your house too. Oh my god! This is so awesome that you get to live here!" Saedy sang happily as the two walked into the house. 5

The first floor consisted of the kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathrooms. The walls were deep red in all the rooms except for the bathrooms, which were white tiled. The kitchen wasn't very big but it wasn't small either. There was a big sixteen inch LCD television that resided in the living room, along with two beige couches. 6

Gabriel, Johnny and Anika sat in the living room watching the movie Minority Report. As if on cue, Julian ran down the stairs to greet Margo. 7

"Hey, nice to have you here, Margerett." He said muscially, "Wow. Did you like bring all of your belongings or what?"8

Margo frowned "Not exactly. Oh and not to be rude or anything, I don't care for my name. Just call me Margo." 9

Anika left the couch and skipped over to Margo and Saedy. "Hey Margo. Need a hand?" Anika pointed at one of the bags. Before she could answer, Anika grabbed the biggest one and danced to the stairs. Saedy picked up the smallest bag, "Shall we show you to your room?" 10

Margo followed Saedy and Anika to the second floor. There were about twelve rooms altogether. 11

"More students stay here?" Margo asked aloud. 12

Saedy chuckled and replied "Yeah, pretty much. Most of the people that stay in the houses don't have a home to go to. Or are transfere students, like Anika. She's originally from Ecuador." 13

"Where are you..." Margo began but was interrupted by Saedy. "Where are you from, Margy?"14

"Uh please don't call me that." It reminded her to much of her mother and her cockly voice. 15

"Oh sorry. Where are you from then?" 16

"Sorry Sade." Anika gave Saedy a quick smirk as she grabbed Margo's hand. 17

Anika led her to the last door in hall and reached into her jacket for the key. 18

"Saedy can sometimes be a twit, but don't mind her, she was the newest..uh..student to this house. Now that your here, she's a little intimidated by you being new." 19

Anika unlocked the door and opened it. "Take a look, it is your room." Margo stepped into the room and set her bags next to the bed. The walls were white with red trim. There was one window that looked out the to the east. 20

"This is great!" Margo smiled at Anika. "But I need to know, what will it cost?" 21

Anika laughed and put a hand on Margo's shoulder, "What? I thought Virginia explained everything to you."22

"Virginia?"23

"The secretary."24

"Oh no. She just told me that she would talk to the dean or something." 25

Anika crossed her arms, "Silly. Maybe she's finally going senile. Don't worry about money. Mr. Sypher is really kind, he'll let you stay for free." 26

Later that evening, Margo and everyone sat in the living room. Gabriel introduced her to four other students that were living in the house. 28

Reggie Haddenburg, Vanessa Fenworth, Hannah Willis, and Emily Lawrence.29

"Your cute, you know that?" Emily said in a cheeky voice. 30

Margo blushed and sat down on the floor next to Anika. She looked at all the faces in the room. Reggie had long brown hair that was tied back. Emily appeared to be hispanic and Hannah had major freckles. Vanessa had blonde short hair that had streaks of purple. 31

Gabriel sat up from his seat and walked to the fireplace. "I'm assuming no one has told Margerett yet."32

Saedy stood and cocked her head to the side, "I thought it would be best if we all explained it." 33

"Explain what?" Margo stood too. 34

"Do you believe in fairy tales, Margerett?" Jack asked. Margo looked at him and said no. 35

"Do you believe in magic?" Kyle asked. 36
