Do You Hate Getting Up Early?1
Then Check This Out2
Attention all juniors, sophomores, and freshmen: Do you hate getting up early? Well it’s time to get used to it or be late.3
“ They expect us to get up early and get up earlier, when they know we stay up late and then expect us to keep our grades up too,” a junior speaks her mind.4
The schedule is changing next year and everything is moving up 15 minutes earlier. You should start practicing now because it’s just going to get harder next year, with coming in at 7:15am. There is an upside to the new time we get out at 2:00pm instead of 2:15pm. The reason they are changing the time is so allow for sports events and other extra-curricular activities without interfering with the schools curriculum.5
“We get out at 2pm, maybe it will teach them responsibilities and get their butts out of bed,” another junior speaks her mind.6
This not only affects the student body, it affects the whole Havre de Grace High School faculty as well.7
“I have no problems getting in, but for the students it’s going to be hard,” commented Mr. Brooks.8
In the long run there is an upside and a downside to moving the schedule up 15 minutes. So maybe the school board made a good decision. The truth will be known next year.9
“I am a pm person,” Mrs. Cummin tells her view.10

Author notes
I have not been writing news articles that long and only damble in it. I wrote this during my Junior year of high school; for our school newspaper. I am College freshman now; but I hope this gives you a little inspiration. I worked for the school Newspaper "The Gracian". It was an online newspaper that we revived after 10 years of being gone.

I hate how early they make teens get up. it has been proven that teens need the most sleep, yet they recieve the least amount because of the redicilous hour which school beings.

Man, it would suck to have to go to school that early... And I thought waking up at 5 am was bad... Wow...
But I think you could have been less dry with how you wrote this. It was a little choppy for my taste.
Other than that, you had a good subject going for you
