She steps out onto the stage, glances around at the big red curtains before they open, her hearts in her throat but not of fear, of pure excitment. She checks her shoes, the pants, finally the top, like her instructor always said to do. She stands ready, posed for the world, the curtains fly up, she looks out into the crowd. Theres her mom, and dad, as always, always supporting, helping, being so selfless. All for her five minutes up here. All for her. Theres her friends sitting near by, which makes her heart jump even more. What a natural high this always gives her. She can hardly breath, and then the music starts.1
