The Day Only Comes Once

I slowly zipped up the dress. I stared into the mirror wondering what would happen. I slowly ran my fingers along the lacy flower pattern that flowed along my dress. Would this day be a disaster? What would the groom think? What would be of our parents when they meet each other for the first time? I drank out of a water bottle to calm me down. Nothing can go wrong. Everything is planned perfectly. Just that second the bridesmaid walked in.1

"The dress is beautiful, Kaycee."2

"I know. Hey, Linds, do you think anything will go wrong?"3

"I don't think so. Everything is planned perfectly. Everything looks beautiful."4

"That's good. Thanks for the support, Lindsay."5

"You're welcome, after all, this is your big day."6

I slowly murmured, "bigger than my parents not knowing I'm pregnant?"7

Lindsay stood still and stared at me. "You're pregnant?"8

"Yes. 2 months."9

"Congratultaions, Kaycee!"10

"Thank you."11

Lindsay slowly walked away from me. After she was out of the room, I touched my stomach, realizing that a small baby was harnessed in there. I slowly walked over to the dresser. I sat in the chair and looked at my face in the mirror. I slowly picked up the blush and dabbed some on my pale cheeks.12

"Ms. Kaycee?" said a woman in a maid's outfit.13

"Yes?"14

"Your groom wishes to see you."15

"OK, tell him to come in."16

Richard walked into the room and kissed me on the cheek.17

"You look beautiful, sweetheart."18

"Thanks. You look very handsome."19

"Thank you back." He said while he stared at himself in the mirror.20

"I'm so excited for today, everyhting looks great."21

"Yes it does."22

Suddenly the maid came dashing back through the door.23

"Mr. Richard, Ms. Kaycee, come with me. It's time to go."24

"OK. We'll be right there."25

Richard kissed me on the cheek again and whispered in my ears. "You ready?" I whispered back, "I think so."26

I peeked around the corner and watched Richard walk up the aisle onto the stage. My dad surprised me from behind."27

"You ready, darling?"28

"Yes I am, dad."29

He grabbed my arm and slowly walked me down the aisle. I saw my friends on one side and my family on the other side of me. I slowly approched the stage, and before I knew, the man started talking. 30

The ceremony took such a long time. Until I finally heard the man say, "You may now kiss the bride."31

Richard kissed me on the lips and all of the sudden, we were married.32

I stepped into a limosuine. I could hear everyone cheering from behind.33

We went into our new house and took all the presents into the the living room. We promised my parents that we wouldn't open the presents until they were there.34

All of the sudden, the doorbell rung. My parents were here.35

"Hi Mom, hi dad."36

"Hi sweetie! How are you?" My mom said cheerily.37

"Better than ever!"38

"Let's open presents!"39

"OK."40

First we opened up a $1,000 check from my brother. Then we opened a $500 gift card to the mall. There were so many gifts, the list never ended.41

I pulled my mom aside.42

"Mom?"43

"Yes?"44

"I have a gift for you."45

"And what would that be, darling?"46

"I'm pregnant."47
