Moonlit Nights [Chapter 7]

Raven’s Past: Part 11

2

The shadows were long and the sun was no where to be seen, as if playing its own game of hide and go seek…and winning. A girl who looked no more then 18 -even though her true age was 136- sat on a throne made of black roses and thronged vines. Her short messy black hair –that just barley reached her shoulders- concealing her hard cold stone blue eyes. She was dressed in tight hip hugging blue jeans and a black halter top. The room was an empty pitch black, as dark as night without the moon or the stars to light it’s inked seems. The room was always like this, just how she always wished it to be, and the coldness was a bonus in her eyes, it made people fear entering…she loved fear. She hissed as the door opened and light shone into the room causing her to shield her eyes from its glowing beauty. A girl the same age, her looks not that of older then 18 as well, entered the room her long white hair falling softly down her back to her butt as her soft blue eyes fixed on the black haired girl who growled low in her throat. Her long white dress fell neatly at her ankles as she approached the throne, she stopped a few feet away from it and threw a questioning look at the girl. The black haired girl hissed as the light radiated off of the white haired girl. The white haired girl rolled her eyes and put her hands lightly to her hips.
“Raven, Why did you have the Marders killed?” The girl demanded of Raven who took her turn to roll her eyes.
“Because my dear sister, they were apart of an uprising” Raven said waving her hands as if there deaths were nothing more important then that of a flower being born.
“Raven.” The girl looked to be thinking of the right way to say what she wished to discuss. “Many people are having doubt about your ruling” she finally managed to say. Raven’s eyes went dark as she placed a hand on her chin.
“Are you one of those people Faith?” She snapped as if daring Faith to say yes. Faith didn’t back down, she wasn’t going to be throttled by her sister’s scare tactics.
“Raven! You kill people without trial and, and you smoother people with your darkness!” Faith snapped back Raven stood up fast causing Faith to take a wary step back.
“My own sister!” Raven growled. “I’m the bloody queen of darkness! Do you expect me to be all love and puppies?” Raven sneered.
“No but you can still respect peoples rights!” Faith snapped not backing down, even after Raven’s out burst.
“Oh get off your high horse miss goody goody!” a voice hissed. Faith groaned and shook her head. There now standing beside Raven was a boy with really short spiky brown hair and playful hazel eyes. His plain brown shirt clung to him showing of his abs as his baggy black jeans completed the ensemble. He wrapped an arm around Raven and smirked as be moved so he was behind her and placed his chin on her shoulder. Raven smiled deeply.
“This has nothing to do with you Adam!” Faith snapped and Adam’s eyes glowered.
“Well, well, well miss happy go lucky is angry! Meow tiger” Adam toyed and Faith rolled hr eyes at his childishness and looked at Raven.
“Look, I don’t like what your doing and neither do the elders” Faith stated “The power is getting to your head! Maybe you should back down” Raven looked Faith in the eyes as if Faith had called her a name.
“What did you just say?” Raven hissed and Faith sighed deeply shaking her head once again.
“This is getting no where” Faith sighed once more.
“She asked you a question” Adam snapped and Faith rolled her eyes.
“I can never have a serious conversation when he’s here!” Faith snapped, then before she could blink Raven had grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall. Faith winced at this.
“Answer me!” Raven sneered her voice filled with venom.
“Let me go Raven” Faith demanded, this only caused Raven to slam her wrist against the wall. Faith yelped a bit and Adam laughed leaning against the chair to watch the scene unfolding.
“What did you say!” Raven spat angered and Faith winced again.
“I said that me nor the elder’s approve of your ruling and wish you to back down” Faith repeated herself finally. Raven’s eyes filled with pure anger as she tightened her grip on Faith’s wrist causing Faith’s eyes to water slightly.
“So you think I should hand my throne over to whom…YOU!” Raven hissed.
“Raven your hurting me” Faith cried as the pain moved from her wrist to her arm. Raven laughed cruelly and if only to smite her gripped it tighter causing Faith’s tears to spill over.
“You traitorous wench! You think you can just come into my home and tell me you and the bloody elders think I should hand my throne over to someone else!” Raven snapped and slammed Faith’s wrist against the wall once more. A snapping sound rang through the empty room and Faith screamed. Raven just chuckled and threw her to the ground. Faith grabbed her now broken wrist and sat up glaring at Raven while tears spilled down her cheeks.
“This used to be my home too! Raven what happened to the Raven I knew, the one who would laugh and play with me! The one who would damn well kill anyone who hurt me! What happened to my sister?” Faith yelled more tears spilling down her cheeks and Raven just laughed.
“That Raven never existed! She was a fake who was lost until she found out what her power could truly do and realized she was meant for bigger things!” Raven sneered down at Faith who looked at her sister as if she was mad. “I used to think those things included you, but now I see things much more clearly. I can tell now that I was way off. You’re not included, no. Your here to bring me down! Too stop me from reaching my full potential! But I won’t let you!” Raven snapped. Faith looked at her with the same looked.
“Raven! What are you talking about! Have you gone mad! I’m trying to help you!” Faith cried and Raven laughed. Faith stood up still holding her wrist. “Look at what you’re doing! Your broke your own sisters wrist for your own enjoyment! This isn’t you Raven! Your becoming a monster!” Raven advanced on Faith who squeaked quietly and walked herself backwards into a wall. Raven slammed her fists on either side of Faith head causing Faith to recoil.
“Your not doing so good in the sister department yourself Faith. You’re supposed to be on my side, cheering me on! But no, you have to go behind my back and gang up on me! You’re not supposed to tell me to back down. You’re supposed to congratulate me on a job well done!” Raven snapped and it was Faith’s turn to laugh.
“What good job?! All I see is some big shot on the throne who thinks she can do what ever she wants!” Faith spat, her always soft eyes gone hard.
“That’s the thing Faith, I can! I can do what ever I want and no one can do a thing about it!” Raven smirked and Faith shook her head.
“That’s the thing Raven, you can’t. You just can’t make rules and expect others to follow them if you break them yourself!” Faith snapped and Raven grabbed her shoulder roughly. Faith winced and closed her eyes. Raven dragged her down the long hall to the door and threw it open. Everyone stopped to stare at the scene, shock present in all there eyes.
“Come back when you’ve decided to join me again!” Raven snapped and Threw Faith to the ground. Faith looked up at her sister. Many rushed to her side to help her up.
“Thank you” Faith said in a small voice trying to pull herself together. She then turned to look at Raven, who sneered at her. Faith sighed deeply and turned around walking away from the castle. Raven slammed the door shut and walks back to her throne. She sat down upon it and growled. Adam walks around behind her and starts to massage her shoulders.
“Don’t let her get to you like this” Adam coo’d and Raven sighed relaxing.
“I know I shouldn’t, but she just pushes my buttons!” Raven sighed. Adam smiled and pushed a little harder.
“You can’t let her get you so stressed out like this; you have more important stuff to worry about.” Adam commented and Raven smiled.
“What would I do without you?” Raven asked a small smirk playing on her lips. Adam smirked as he moved so he was in front of her so he could kiss her lips.
“You’d let everyone walk all over you” he smirked and Raven laughed. Adam picked her up and carried out of the room his lips never leaving hers.3

Two weeks passed and no Faith. Adam had reassured Raven this was a good thing, which meant she was thinking over what she said and was probably embarrassed. Raven smiled at his words and awaited her sister’s apology. Another week went by and still no Faith, Raven was starting to grow impatient.4

She sat on her throne in a black spaghetti strapped t-shirt and tight black jeans. Raven growled broadly as she tapped her long finger nails on the side of her arm rest. Adam sat by her side his dark blue baggy jeans and dark blue muscle shirt creating the perfect bad boy look. The door opened and once more a burst of light filled the room and Raven hissed covering her eyes. Raven finally opened them and recognized Faith walking towards her, she was dressed in a light red skirt and a matching short sleeved t-shirt. Raven smiled brightly and sat up straight.
“Ad Faith it’s good to see you” Raven said warmly and Faith smiled back.
“Can I talk to you alone?” Faith asked and Raven nodded looking to Adam who nodded and kissed Raven’s lips before leaving the room.
“So what do you wish to talk about?” Raven asked in a happy voice as if she was once again a little kid and learned a head of time she was getting a new toy.
“Well, I’ve been thinking, thinking a lot. I’ve come to an agreeable conclusion.” Faith said and Raven smirked waiting for it. “And I stand by what I said last time” Faith finished and Raven looked at Faith shocked deeply.
“GAURDS! TAKE HER TO THE CELLS!” Raven bellowed and it was Faith’s turn to look shocked as she was grabbed roughly and dragged to the dank dark cell’s where she stayed sadly for three weeks. Raven finally came down and took her out. Raven followed Faith to her home where she lived since the castle was declared her home no longer. Faith’s face stayed emotionless as she watched Raven burn it to the ground before her eyes. Raven’s cruel laugh rang in her head, but she blocked it out.
“Last chance sister!” Raven snapped but Faith remained silent as if broken by her sister’s actions. Raven hissed and dragged her to the lake. Faith looked at her sister with emotionless eyes. Raven just sneered as people gathered around. “You have been found to have taken part in treason and shall be sentence to death by drowning” Raven spat and Faith stayed quiet not flinching. The people around gasped and tears filled there eyes and Faith was tied up. Raven watched as she was tossed into the lake and slowly sunk to the bottom, never to come back up. Raven walked away happy with herself, Adam at her side.5

Fate was angered by Raven’s actions and started to plot a way to get rid of her.
