Princess Rock

Her name was Sabrina, and yes, she was a princess in her own little way. King Abraham was her father who strongly wished she would act more like a princess than a rock star. Once upon a time, this princess was blasting her brand new guitar and screaming out the window. Sabrina wore a tank top with a skull on it, and shorts. While she did this, her mother knocked on the door. "Sabrina, dear, may I come in?" she asked politely. Since Sabrina didn't answer because of her loud music, her mother, Queen Mary went inside her room anyway.1

In her room were posters of rock stars, band equipment all over, and pictures of her band on the wall. Mary sighed sadly as she sat beside her daughter on her bed. After several taps on the shoulder, Sabrina finally quit playing her electric guitar, and set it down. "What, mom?" she asked in an annoyed tone. "You promised me you wouldn't bother me while I'm thinking up new songs, remember?"2

"I know, sweetheart," she replied sadly, looking at Sabrina sadly. "But I just wanted you to know that your father's friends from far away are coming."3

"And?" 4

"It'd be real important if you could act like a lady for a day," she explained slowly. Her daughter immediately shook her head.5

"No. That day my band has a concert, and I can't miss it."6

"Oh, Sab..." she started, then getting interrupted.7

"No, mom. I'm sorry, but you can't change the way I am," she finished for her, getting up. She took two sodas out of her mini fridge. "Want one?"8

"I'll pass, dear," answered her mother upset. "I already had some tea before I came up here." Her mother fake smiled, and slowly walked down the stairs of the castle.9

Later on, Sabrina's boyfriend Nick came over. He was in her band, and he had a mowhawk, earings, and a tatoo of a heart on his arm. "Hi, Sabrina," he greeted, kissing her on the cheek. "Ready for our concert?"10

"Yeah, I can't believe my mom tried to make me act like a young lady," Sabrina said, hitting some strings on her guitar. "Being the kid of the king and queen really stinks."11

Nick nodded and sat on his drum seat. He started banging on his drums loudly, and shouted, "One... two... three!" And that was the cue to start the song, even though the whole band wasn't there. When the song was over, Sabrina was exhausted from running around her room, acting like a dancer. The two gave each other a high five and smiled. "You're such a hot rock star," he flirted, kissing her.12

Unlike her mother that knocked, her mama's boy brother Jake barged in. "Dad wants you," he messaged to her, staring at Nick.13

"This will be great," laughed the princess under her breath. "Nick, I'll see you tomorrow?"14

"Of course." The two waved as they went separate ways down the hallway. Sabrina met her angry father in the dining room. He had a disgusted look on face as he tapped his fingers on the table madly. 15

"Young lady, or should I call you rocker," he mocked, pointing to the chair across from him. "Sit down, right now."16

Sabrina rolled her eyes as she sat across from her dad.17

"Sabrina, we need to talk. This rocker thing needs to stop, right now. Your mother asked you to be a respectful young lady for one day, and you rudely let her down. That's *bunny*." 18

"Dad, I have a huge concert that-" she started. Her furious father slammed his fat hand on the table.19

"Enough!" he yelled madly. His voice calmed as he spoke. "I'm sorry, but you'll have to miss it."20

Tears filled her angry eyes, and became mad. "Nobody cares!" she sobbed, running out of the room. "You don't care that every teen in the entire kingdom will be there!"21

"I guess you'll be the only one not there," King Abraham replied, having a soft laugh. But deep down, he wished his daughter was happy being a girly girl.22

Sabrina dashed up to her room and slammed her head on a pillow. Tears got all over it as she cried, but then out of no where, some kind of fairy appeared.23

"Do you wish your parents could understand how you're feeling?" wondered the voice, making Sabrina alarmed. Quickly she turned around happily, and screamed, "YES!!"24

"Then you need to grant a wish, Sabrina," he told her, pointing his wand.25

"Who are you? And how do you know my name?" she asked him surprised.26

"What is this, twenty questions? My name is Cory, blah, blah, blah. I know your name because I keep track of kids' names, blah, blah, blah," he snapped, rolling his eyes, feeling annoyed.27

"Will could you grant that? Please? I wish that so much," Sabrina begged, laying on her comfy bed.28

And with a blink of an eye, sparkly fairy dust from his wand came out, and it seemed as nothing happened. "Okay, Sabrina. Your wish has been granted, and now, you have lost your only wish," he explained, tapping his wand.29

Sabrina grinned and ran down the stairs quickly, hoping to see some changes. Indeed there was. Instead of having the kingdom's sports on the TV, a band singing a rock song was singing. "Hey, Jake," she greeted, opening the fridge. "Who's singing?"30

"Um... I think ACDC," replied her mother unexpectedly. And for once her mother was right about music, so Sabrina smiled.31

"Come on, Cory. Let's search the rest of the castle," she whispered to her fairy. The two wandered through the house until they found Jake blasting the stereo with 'I Love Rock' N Roll on'.32

"Hey, Jake," Sabrina said, staring at his brand new stereo. "I love rock, don't you?" Expecting to hear an argue as usual because he loved country, Jake just nodded.33

"Yeah, it's awesome." The princess just grinned, but didn't mean it. She kind of missed winning the arguments with her dumb brother. As she kept searching, she eventually found her dad having a meeting with people. But instead of eating tea and sardine with their meal, they had pizza and soda. 34

"Wow, dad, this is good pizza," she said, stuffing herself with a piece of pepperoni pizza. "Did you make this?"35

"Nope, we ordered it." The rock star sighed as she continued to chew, realizing that having a rock family wasn't so great after all. 36

As days and even weeks went on, Sabrina got very tired of eating pizza every night, and tired of listening to rock shows, music, and concerts. Her concert was pretty awesome by the way, but soon after she became sorrow because of her changed family. "I wish my family was back to the way they were," she wished. Cory appeared with a apologetic face. 37

"Sorry, kid, but you wasted your wish," he apologized cooly. "Besides, the only way I can give you your wish back is if you tell me why your wish was wrong."38

The teen put her hand under her chin as she thought for about five minutes. It took her that long to realize what she had done. "Okay, here it is," she started with pride. "I wished it wrong because I should have realized that I need to talk to my parents about who I wanna be, not just waste a wish I may need."39

Cory thankfully clapped his hands, and smiled. "Wish granted," he granted, waving his wand. A bunch of the same fairy dust came out, and they were back to the way they were. The rock star charged down the stairs to see her family all gathered by the fireplace. Her father came up to her and gave her a huge hug.40

"I'm sorry, honey," he apologized. "We should except you for who you are."41

"Yes, dear. I'm sorry, too," her mother agreed, joining in the hug. Jake stayed out of the hug by sipping a boiling cup of tea, but eventually joined as one group hug. Despite the family's differences with rock, they all learned to accept them and have tolerance with their family members. So then from then on, they lived happily ever after.42

    It is good.

  • For one, her mother didn't tell her WHICH day her friends were coming into town, she just said that they were coming into town, and Sabrina immediately said she had a concert... you might want to think about that.

Line 25, the fairy said "then you need to grant a wish" but fairies are the ones that grant wishes, she needs to MAKE the wish.

Line 28, Sabrina said "will could you grant that.." I think you meant "well, could you..."

Line 41 should be "accept" not "except".

Good story though about learning to communicate with your family. Great write.
