Burn--New time 2

Lyde awoke in the night sweating with a sharp pain in her chest and another in her stomach. She shook with pain beyond everything she had ever known.  Her eyes rolled and she saw memories that were not her own. Vashen ran into the room. ?Lyde! Lyde please wake up! What is wrong!? he shook her but she continued to convulse. He held her tiny body to his chest. ?Lyde! Wake up!?  he shouted uselessly. He stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head.1

Several minutes later Lyde?s convulsions stopped and her eyes flickered. ?Lyde! Lyde, are you ok? What just happened?? Lyde shook her head. ?Pain.? she grasped her stomach and her hart. She wailed into the night. 2

When morning came, Lyde told Vashen secretly of her family. She told him everything so that it made scene. Then she told him her theory on what caused her pain. ?Because my sisters held much magic, I was warned that when one of them dies the power is given out evenly into the others? I think both Rica and Gerinode died.? 3

Vashen looked into Lyde?s eyes with a pure sadness. ?I am sorry. It must be a terrible pain! I also contain some magic and I have studied on how to use it. I?m not quite sure if I can understand this type of magical stress.? Lyde brought her hand gracefully down his cheek from under his eye to his jawbone and smiled. ?Thou must be more positive!?  He looked at her. ?At times I get so upset because I cannot change the world nor anything around me.? she smiled. ?Nay, thou can not with those forms of thought. Ay, ?tis possible to change thy world. If thou put out positive energy, it will feed back into thine surroundings!? 4

Vashen smiled as he left the room. He went back to sleep smiling.5
