to be continued (unfinished work, pls avoid)

Moving inside rather quickly to my spot at the kitchen table, I signed in on my laptop to Myspace. 'New Message'..don't get too many of those lately, and from a stranger, she thought....some woman. Who was this?1

She read along: "Hi, Sarah. This is Christine Smith. I went to school with you in the fourth grade. We used to pick strawberries together in sixth grade. I lived on Five Mile Line Road. You lived on Yorktown Drive. Do your parents still live there? Please write back".2

Hitting reply while talking on the phone, I remarked to someone I was talking to at the time that it was incredibly odd that this person from fourth grade would message me after thirty-seven years. Thirty-seven years! Thirty-seven years and many people, children, lovers, experiences. What would possess someone to reach out now? Did they have noone in their life to chat with? I thought about it, writing back in the reply window: "How did you ever remember me?"....3

The reply was startling: "I am currently dating Michael O'Malley of Bridgeport". No bloody way. I laughed out loud until the person on the other end of the phone as well as my son who was in the refridgerator leaned up and said "WHAT!!?". 4

Stating what I just read, we all agreed it was one of the perhaps juiciest tid bits about Michael yet. My sixty-six year old obsessor had once again networked further on his dating sites to ensnare yet another. This time it was what seemed to be another unsuspecting divorced single mother, only this time? This time it was someone from my past, someone I had known since I was a child. I felt the violation for her.5
