Her Sister

A quick kiss on the cheek1

As she runs out the door 2

Then she’s down the street3

Around the corner store4

After that I’ve lost sight5

“Be careful” I mutter6

I sigh and turn on the light7

A moth near it flutters8

I’ll wait until ten tonight9

Then maybe I’ll get some sleep 10

And we will be alright11

But for now there’s not a peep12

So fast they grow13

Fifteen in the blink of an eye14

And time for them is slow15

Please let it be I sigh16

My baby’s grown17

Soon she’ll be gone18

And I’ll be alone….19

With her sister20

    I understand your words perfectly! I feel the same way ... I just said to my husband last night, that it seems like a turned away for, but a moment and my children grew up and are now adults; well 3 of the 4 are! It's quite scary actually.
