The skies are screaming outside-9

In this instant, I hear my name called,10

Talk to me with your words, misconstrued,11

As threatening as 12

A winter storm from hell,13

Listen:14

I hear you- and I know15

You can hear me too-16

Your words are senseless, though at times17

Comforting,18

Warm,19

Scintillating,20

As a soul afire –21

Quiet as a cat tiptoeing upon a cloud or22

A symphony of drumsticks, muffled, or a 23

Single snowflake falling without rhythm upon a 24

Field of dandelions-25

Outside,26

The sky is calling me-27

I do not hear,28

Only your words, can I hear?29

Every day and night we meet in this room,30

Dark as fear, or light as a ray of agonizing and heated…31

Fury?32

My eyes can feel pain but33

My heart cannot speak or feel-34

My ears are deafened to the words of the people 35

Who intimidate,36

Menace,37

Wish to harm me?38

I ca n hear the voices of people talking,39

Conversing about me,40

Those, whom I cannot see,41

Although my eyes can feel the pain, 42

My heart won’t speak as43

It cannot feel-44

Speak to me 45

Your senseless words,46

Do not look at me,47

Your eyes could be daggers of death and ill fated-48

Outside, the sky is calling-49

Snow is falling50

Flake by flake,51

I cannot see, although52

If my heart could speak, it would say53

“I love you”54

I feel safe with you-55

You are not real, and56

Your senseless words are a symphony,57

Your garbled messages are poetry,58

Do not take t hem back,59

They warm my heart,60

Though it cannot speak-61

The sky is calling,62

Your chaotic words are overpowering,67

Frighteningly beautiful, and almost threatening –68

Although safe because69
