Chapter 1: Lou Gets His
Captian’s Wing’s1

W. Peter Sanci Jan. 17 /20092

My dear, dear friends. I have another wonderful character to introduce you to today.
He is one of those silent heroes of the war, one man who did his duty to God and country, without any fan fare or glory.
He just did what he had to do, day in and day out.
I know you won’t believe this but our hero was also an ordained minister.3

Pg. 2
So sit back and enjoy Chapter 1: Captain Lou receives his wings.4

Well it was a perfectly clear spring day when Lou looked out over the
runway checking the flying conditions, as he did every morning at this time.
“ Man it’s so clear, I can almost see the coast of France.” He said to the small group of fighter pilots who rose early each day.
“ I wonder where we are going to attack this morning,” He chided the other’s cheerily.
It was at this time that their commanding officer, Buck Thomas, who was as tough as nails came in the briefing room to give out the days orders.5

Pg. 3
“ Well Lou, one more mission and you get those captain’s bars you been waiting for.” He said jokingly. They all knew that Lou was going to be the first black captain in the history of the Canadian Air Force.
“ Yes sir,” Lou replied smartly. He was smiling from ear to ear.
So after finding out that they were to bomb a munitions factory in a nearby German village, they all raced to climb in to their cockpits.
Excitement, filled the air, tensions were running high.
They were off in an instant, and all you could see was the tailings from their jets.
Once over the munitions factory, the soon to be Captain Lou, gave the familiar order “ Bombs
Away !”
Pg.4
And with that order given, our hero, became the first black Captain in the Royal Canadian Air
Force.
His family stood proudly watching, as the Commander pinned the placed the Captian’s bars on Lou’s
feshly pressed jacket.
Then a big cheer rose from the crowd as Captain Lou Strong walked proudly down the runway into the arms of his adoring family.
The End.

  • This does not seem to be a chapter to anything, is it or is it not? Also what is with the Pg 1-2-3-4 thing it seems strange and very destracting. You'll need to give me proof that this is a chapter before I finish the contest or I will have to DQ you. Thanks for entering.
