A Day With Josh

As I listened to Josh's Jeep Wrangler go off road I was really starting to wonder, where we were going.1

"Josh..." I asked 2

"Yeah?" he said3

"Where are we going?" I asked for the fifteenth time4

"Tuesday, how many times do I have to tell you." He said as the car came to a stop5

"That it's a surprise?" I guessed6

"Yeah. I was going to keep on your blindfold, but I'll let you take it off."7

"Thanks Josh!" I said as I heard him open the Jeep door.8

When I opened my eyes I saw the sun setting over the water, it looked like a gold ball sinking in the ocean. Then Josh called me and then I noticed that my new bright red converse where wet and sandy.9

"Tuesday, If you don't come soon I'll eat all the food!" he called again.10

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I said as I tried to sit down, but instead I fell on my back with a cry of "I'M OKAY!" Josh just started laughing, and then so did I.11

"Come on let's go in the water!" I called to Josh after dinner.12

"Sounds good!" he said running after me13

The sun was almost gone and it was getting dark, Josh and I just played it the water with our sneakers on and soaking full clothes "It's hard to run in wet jeans." I told Josh.14

"Yeah it is," he agreed "and it's getting dark. I should take you home"15

"Sounds good" I said as we got our stuff and went to the car. In the car I turned on a light a found a red sharpie and wrote 'fun at the beach 4-14-09' and realized it was my birthday.16

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUESDAY!" Josh said as he handed me a present. I ripped it open with excitement and I saw my favorite book "I'd tell you that I love you but then I'd have to kill you... THANKS JOSH!" I said overly exited17

"open it." he said, I did as I was told.18

"JOSH! HOW DID YOU GET A SIGNED COPY?" I asked19

"Remember I had to go out of town?" he started I just nodded "Well she was signing copies and I asked if she could make it out to you" As Josh drove me home all I could do was smile... and now that I think of it I never turned off the light, Oh well.

The perfect date with your boyfriend on your birthday, I have been using the name Josh since 2004/2005 the year I'd tell you that I love you but then I'd have to kill you came out I found out about the book in 2006/2007.

    Nice story!  It took me a while to figure out that the character's name is Tuesday, but I the dialog was really good. Great job!

    Cute write! That's so nice of her brother (brother, right?) to take her to the beach ON her birthday! Good luck in the contest, and great idea! The only thing I noticed was that the last sentence was a run on.

      No It's her boyfriend her brother is Kenneth, by the way I fixed the story some and added some more stuff... I do have a tendency to do a run on.. even when I talk
