I waited outside the classroom door, chuckling quietly. The teacher, Mrs Goyana, gave a threatening glare at me. I pulled a face at her as she turned her old, hunched back on me. My friend's began to laugh. Mrs Goyana was known as one of the most useless teachers in Walter High School. She was quite pathetic about detentions, and would shout at you if you leant across to your friend to lend them a pencil. Although she did own quite a hilarious figure, almost like a demented warthog, she did have a stern look upon that tusked face of hers. 1
The bell rang right beside me, forcing me to slap my hands against my ears. Mrs Goyana dismissed everyone. Except me. 2
I sighed and dragged myself over to her ancient desk that seemed to be lolling on it's last leg. I frowned and asked her cheekily "Are you going to let me go, or what?"3
She pierced at me through her seriously old-fashioned spectacles, and beckoned "Miss Taylor! Where are your manners? That rudeness will add on an extra 10 minutes to your detention! Go and sit down!" My mouth fell open as I sneered at her and took a seat at the very back of the classroom. I began to daydream, hoping that the 20 minutes of torture would soon end. 4
A beautiful scent filled the room. I opened my eyes, and realized that I had fallen asleep. But Mrs Goyana hadn't seemed to notice. She was too busy marking students' work. I strained my eyes to peer at the class clock and find out that I still had 8 minutes of torture left. I thought to myself, why can't teachers get detentions too? Mrs Goyana deserved over a million for her annoyingness-I know that's not even a word, but I just felt like thinking it up at the time. 5
Light footsteps became louder and louder as the scent got stronger and stronger. Mrs Goyana looked up from the marking she was busy with, and smiled. Her buckteeth shone in the light, and her cheeks wrinkled like a lake that had been bombarded with flying stones. She said in her adolescent yet croaky voice "Ah, Mr Aderson. How wondeful it is to finally meet you! I do hope you will enjoy your years here at Walter High. Do take a seat."6
The boy raised an eyebrow at her unexpected excitement and sat at the front of the classroom. Perfect. I had a brilliant view of him. He was a very interesting person. I wondered what his voice would sound like.7
"Oh yes. Felix, I am sorry about Miss Taylor over there. She is utterly disrespectful. Please forgive me if she causes you any disruption," murmured Mrs Goyana. He turned around to face me. I stumbled for words, but my dictionary was 'out of order' at the time. I smiled and waved at him shyly, trying to hide my blood-rushed face. I heard him giggle slightly as he smiled at me and turned to face the teacher again. I began to breathe again, and my body relaxed when his attractive eyes released mine. His body was a perfect shape, his eyebrows didn't need a shave, and his mesmerizing golden eyes could get anyone's attention and sympathy. 8
He had a perfect shade of brown in his hair. It almost matched my labrador's fur. His face looked so tender, and his ears weren't too big or too small. 9
The bell rang again. This time, I wasn't the one to jump. Felix was. He laughed and quickly grabbed his bag, trying to pretend that he was meant to get up so quickly. I then remembered how beautiful his name was. Felix. It was fiery, and hot. It reminded me of that mythical creature that was called a Phoenix. 10
Mrs Goyana stood up, for once, and told us both that we could go. As soon as I had finished being mesmerized by Feelix, i thought, why was Felix in detention too? 11
I stepped outside of the classroom, and into the corridor of English. My best friend, Jessica, ran up to me and gave me a friendly hug. Mason and Jason, her twin brothers, followed her, and greeted me by asking how fun my detention was. I sarcastically smiled "It was the best time ever! You missed all the fun!"12
But then I remembered Felix. I decided to tell Jess and her brothers about him on the way to our next lesson, Geography. 13
Jessica was always interested in boy talk, considering she was after one herself. I was praying to God that she wouldn't nab Feelix off me. Somehow, she seemed to read my mind, and laughed "Don't worry, Kiera, I think he's safe with you."14
I laughed too, helping her to look less like an idiot. 15
"Come in people! Hurry, hurry! God, we don't have all day!" Shouted my Geography teacher, Mr Handley. He was one of the youngest male teachers in the school, and attracted a few girls with his coolness and charms. As me and Jess sat down next to eachother, Jason and Mason sat at the front, as usual. 16
Jess began to start a conversation by saying "So about this new boy.." 17
"Ello' there! Who are you then?" Smiled Mr Handley in his cheery voice. Everyone turned around to stare at Feelix like he was the new Hitler making a speech in a parade. Everyone except me. I thought that it would be extremely agonising for him, being stared at by a bunch of aye-ayes. But as he passed me and Jess, he didn't seem bothered at all. Felix spoke " Hello. I am Felix."18
A moment of silence passed. 19
He emphasized "The new boy."20
Mr Handley replied "Oh, right. Well, welcome to Walter High. Don't worry Felix, these nutters aren't actually mad, although they look it."21
The class laughed. I still had Felix's voice stuck in my head. It was like that of an angel's. It was so delicate, so clear, and so calm. 22
The lesson drifted on as I thought about Felix over and over again. I imagined us together in a posh mansion with a hundred little kids running around like maniacs. We had both taken the acting career, and desired for lots of kids and money. The bell rang yet again, signalling that it was home time. I took a breath of relief. Finally, the end of school-For today. 23
I made my way home silently, dodging the few random footballs that boys kicked at me. I shouted at them and laughed as the guilty boy's mates took my side. Boys. A random, but attractive race of human kind. 24
I turned the corner, my house was only a few feet away. As I was about to enter my house, I saw a familiar face next door. A huge moving lorry was parked outside next door and furniture was constantly going in and out. The face caught me looking at them, and jumped in shock. It was Felix. He laughed at his weird reaction, and waved at me. This time he spoke, and my dictionary was 'in stock'. He smiled "Hi. So I'm you're new next door neighbour, huh?"25
I laughed and replied "I guess so." 26
I filled in an incoming moment of silence. "Just out of interest, why were you inside Mrs Goyana's classroom today. Did that old hag give you a detention already?"27
Felix laughed, and answered "No. I just like the warmth, unlike you crazy people. I'm not too keen on Mrs Goyana. She's a bit...Ancient?"28
I couldn't help but laugh, and say "She could be Jesus's mother, Mary, if she wanted to. Hasn't she ever tried those anti-wrinkle creams?"29
Felix's mum called him, and he waved goodbye before disappearing. I was amazed that I actually managed to speak to him casually. I thought that my voice would go croaky and quiet like Mrs Goyana's.30
I thought it was strange that he didn't like the cold. Didn't he ever get bored of warmth like i did?
I walked the few steps left to my house and went to bed.31
The next school day began. I watched Felix through all of my lessons, and even ditched Jess at lunch time to spend it with him. I felt bad, but after all, she would be occupied with her brothers.32
As me and Felix talked, all Felix seemed to talk about was Science and Computers. It actually became a bit boring. He quizzed me on muscles in the body, and with no surprise, I completely failed. Then he went on about this internet site he visited regularly. A bit too regularly. He went on about how far he had got in this game he played, and how popular he was on there. I just sat beside him, and gave him the 'nod and smile' treatment. 33
As I returned home from a boring school day, I started to disagree with myself. He did look hot, but he just talked about boring subjects all day. Nothing exciting. Now I was hoping that the dream wouldn't come true.34
The next day was Saturday. Finally. Some rest and peace from Felix. My alarm clock read 9:30AM. I sighed and flopped back into the warmth of my cosy bed. Rolo, my labrador, trotted in and brushed his body against my bed. His head popped up. His long tongue lolled out, and his beautiful black eyes shone in the light. I reached over to stroke him, but a loud noise frightened me and I jolted forwards. I knew that it came from outside my window, so I moved my lilac curtains aside, to find out, to my regret, that Felix was standing outside staring at me cheerily.
I couldn't hide my real feelings about him because of my tiredness, so I pulled a groany face and shoved the curtains in the way. I leant back onto my bed and closed my eyes, trying my best to forget that the jerk lived next door to me. 35
Ding-Dong!...Ding-Dong!...Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong! I heard my mum shout "I'm coming! Keep your hair on!"
I knew who it was. Felix just wouldn't give up. I hauled myself out bed, and quickly got changed into some skinny dark blue, tinted jeans and a purple sleeve-less sparkly top. My hair looked a mess when I took a look at my mirror. I ran downstairs and as I reached the door, to my surprise, it wasn't Felix. It was still just as bad though, it was Felix's mum. She was in tears, and had spread her emotions to my mum.
"Sorry to disturb you, Kiera, but I just wanted to know if you would help me find Felix. He was here a minute ago, but he's just disappeared!" Whined Mrs Aderson.
I started to feel guilty. Maybe Felix had run away upset because of what I did when he saw me in the window. 36
"Any luck mum?" I shouted, whilst hacking branches and twigs that this horrid wood had grown. Me, mum, and Mrs Aderson had all gathered a search party for Felix. None of us had got any luck yet. "No, sorry sweetheart," My mum replied sadly.
Sweetheart? When was the last time she had used that word?
I walked on and on, only achieving a muddier pair of ug boots. I had lost my trainers at school, so they were the only pair of shoes I had left, apart from a few high heels which were a definite no for countryside walks. Suddenly, I heard a squeal. But it didn't sound like a human, it sounded more like a bird. But I decided to follow it as it was the only thing interesting in the woods. I walked around a large bush, and my eyes caught something pink in the bush. As I examined the bush closely, it turned out to be Felix. I looked at him strangely. He just looked at me back and replied in a cheery voice "Hiya! You came!"
I frowned in confusion, and asked "Why did you run away?"
"Run away? Pfft, hardly. I'm just nature calling. There are always friendly birds who just love to chat with me," He laughed.
I rolled my eyes and huffed. I had got myself dirty for nothing, but to spend more time with the bird nerd.37
"Felix! Thank goodness you're safe! What upset you, dear?" Mrs Aderson cried as she finally found us.
I decided to explain to her "Felix wanted to watch a bunch of birds sing."
Mrs Aderson sighed and brushed Felix's hair to the side endearingly. After a minute, mum and Mrs Aderson left us alone.
He started talking about the different types of bird call you can make. Before he started the next sentence, I bravely said "Listen, I don't want you to be upset by this, but I just don't like you. We don't have much in common."
There was a moment of nerve racking silence. Finally, Felix spoke "Don't worry. By the way you looked at me this morning I could sort of tell. Maybe we can just say hi whenever we see eachother. Sound good?"
I smiled "Yeah, perfect. Thanks."
I have no idea why I did this, but I kissed him on the cheek, and silently left him stunned in the woods alone.38

That was great I would love to read more. I didn't find any mistakes. Good job and good luck.
-
-
thanks
-
-
yay! you read the rules!
it was kinda creepy which was a good thing in my eyes. Perfect for my contest. Felix sounds psyco

-
-
lol thanks
-
-
I liked your change of the ending. It works much better - now we can all see that Felix is a geek instead of just having the narrator explain it to us quickly. Everything is resolved, which is good. However, I must say that I am not fond of your last paragraph - it kind of just sums everything up in a way that is not necessary. I think you could go without it, but only if you wanted to. So... good job! Much better now.
-
-
thanks
Oh yeah I see what you mean
It'll be a better ending leaving her doing something unexpected 0.o lol
Ok, I'll get rid of the last one
-
-
I really like this story. The detail is great and the whole story flows greatly. Great job with this story and good luck in my contest.

-
-
Thank yoo
-
-
I liked it, but I have to ask, where's the prompt? I may have skipped over it, but if not, try to include it in your story, ok? Other than that it was a good teenagy (not sure if that is even a word ) story and the voice of it matched it greatly. Good job and good luck!

-
-
Thanks for comment
What do you mean by prompt? the question thing?
-
Hiya, thanks for comment
what do you mean by prompt? Also, would you like to read my story called How the insane really feel? I wrote it a few minutes ago-ish lol
-
-
Urm, you entered it in my contest - the Four Chances. one. You were supposed to choose a prompt and then write a story with it in it. Lol, sure.
-
-
-
I like this. It's well-crafted, I think. You combine slang and a teenage voice with good writing. However, I think the ending was a bit abrupt. After all that, it was just like... ah, never mind. Maybe you should try to build it up more. Give more of a reason for her to not like him. Or at least tell more of that story to us. Overall, good job!
-
-
I agree with you
Thanks for your opinion, I'll try to correct it tomorrow
-
-
eyebrows haha

-
-
*gets the razor* so who needs an eyebrow trim, eh? YOU! ahahaha jokig
-

-
This is very good. everyone has had an experience like this I think. It makes it very relateable. Good job!

Thanks!
