Day 1-2

I chose the chorus from Beauty from Pain because it describes a place we've all been at in one point in life. The whole song is about going through a trial, but in the end the singer knows that one day beauty will come from all this pain.4

Day 2-5

"Fools," said I, "You do not know. Silence like a cancer grows. Hear my words that I might teach you, take my hands that I might reach you." But my words like silent raindrops fell and echoed in the well of silence. -Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel6

I chose a verse from Sound of Silence because that song is just genious. It still rings true even today. People keep their words and ideas silent for the fear of offending someone. It's what holds our society back.7

Day 3-8

Rushing and racing and running in circles; moving so fast I'm forgetting my purpose. Blur of the traffic is sending me spinning getting nowhere. My head and my heart are colliding chaotic; pace of the world I just wish I could stop it. Try to appear like I've got it together. I'm falling apart..... -Slow Me Down by Emmy Rossum9

I chose the opening verse of Emmy Rossum's Slow Me Down because I love her music. I completely identify with her music. We get so caught up in the world and the fast-paced lifestyle that we forget to slow down and enjoy the good things in life that don't come around easily, such as love. Not just romantic love, but the love of friends, the love of family and so on.10

Day 4-11

And if you were with me tonight, I'd sing to you just one more time. A song for a heart so big, God couldn't let it live. May Angels lead you in, hear you me my friend.... -Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World12

Hear You Me is a song of regret. The singer wishes that they could've told their friend who died how much they meant to him before they died, but he never took the chance and now he doesn't have one. It's just a reminder to live each day as if it were your last and to make sure that the people who you love know that you love them.13

Day 5-14

And the wheels just keep on turnin. The drummers begin to drum. I don't know which way I'm going, I don't know what I'll become... -Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay15

I have no deep and meaningful reason for choosing these lines. They just struck my fancy. Okay maybe I do have a reason. Being as my Dad got laid off yesterday and I might have to quit school, I really don't know what I'll become. There ya go! 16

Day 6-17

Day 7-20
