Burn-Choice

When the witch was fully consumed the crowd went home to relay to friends the excitement of the burning and make up stories of her showing great magic. That night the sister?s of the young witch gathered in the middle of town where their sister was still singing. A small frightened looking girl came fourth to collect the ashes into a small jar of light blue glass. She sang along with the ashes as they whispered the song the body, mind, and spirit had been signing before death.1

The oldest of them stood and blesses the earth where her sister?s ashes fell. The girl fell into silent sobs. A very pretty middle aged lady came to console her. ?Lyde thee must accept that our sister has gone to be with the goddess.? the girl looked teary eyed at the middle aged lady. ?Why, may haps if she gave the men the information for which the inquired, she would not be singing in a glass jar.? the Lady looked into Lyde?s metallic blue eyes with her green ones. 2

?Lyde, thee must be preserved. No matter the cost to us. Thou saw how the priest questioned our sister. He wanted nothing more then to take thee from thine sisters.  The death men want to burn thee as well. For thee, little sister is a grave danger to the church.?  The Raven black hair of the lady fell around her solemn oval shaped face and Lyde was breathless with wander. 3

?Rica, I want to go.? she said with determination in her voice. ?Ay, little sister, thou shall, may haps when our moon is again restored of her full power.? Rica smiled at Lyde. ?When will this occur??  ?Patience, little sister, when thee turn 15 so shall our moon be made full. Art thou sure that thou are ready?? Rica?s black silky hair shimmered in the moon light as she pierced Lyde and the rest of the night with her green eyes. ?Ay sister, nay though I am afraid. My heart of hart?s holds readiness now more so then before.? Rica light up the night with a smile. ?Grant that thy choice is blessed, my sister.? Rica lifted her head to gain the attention to her older sister who had completed the blessing of the ground.4

?Gerinode our young sister hast given her consent. She sayith that she be ready.? the older witch came to the other two with a smile on her face. ?Ay my sisters, we celebrate this night? Gerinode was beautiful for an older woman. Slightly plump with wisps of silver in her long gold hair and pubescent blue eyes that stung the very sky. 5

I love your descriptions! They're very vividly done. I'm liking this story, and I'm really interested in what happens. It's sad how it started out though. Thanks, too, for commenting on my poem. It's very much appreciated.
