the vampire hunter chap 3: belle reeve

when my eyes opened and my screams stopped, i saw the most beautiful sight. it was better then i ever thought it could of been. it was Belle Reeve, in all its glory. from the over grown fields to the house itself. tears welled up in my eyes as i took it all in. this was my home the one i could never dream of, the one where things could of been different. 1

i turned to aunt Ashlyee and we just stood there for a few minutes taking it all in. all the hurt being over run by the joy of knowing the answers i wanted are standing right in front of me. 2

"dear child, do not cry. this is not some dream, if anything it is just a sereen start to a dangerous nightmare. now let us get inside befor night fall. perhaps we should grab a bit to eat and chat."3

" that sounds like a good idea, but before i go inside tell me where is she? my mother? why isn't she here?" as i wiped the tears from my face.4

"she could not join us, but that is all i can say for now. come let us get warm in side. you do not wish to be caught on the grounds after sunset."5

With that she started up the steps to the house. it was a beautiful house, one of those old houses that looks kind of eirie in a beautiful way. definatly from the cival war days if not before. she led me in to a formal living room that looked like it was taken right out of the victorian era. it was so elegant i felt like i did not belong dressed in my rags. Aunt Ashlyee motioned to a seat which i took and she took the one across from it. 6

"now then before i get us something to eat i must give you a bit of a history lesson. but first what do you know of this place?"7

"all i know is that this belongs to my mother, but that was all this portion of her letter said. the letter had more at one point," as i pulled ot the torn piece of paper, "it looks like it was torn from a book. i found it rolled up with this ring holding it in a little box a few years ago. it was all the hope i had to hold on to after....last year"8

"i was sorry to hear of your mifortun but i was bound by higher powers. i could not of helped you, nor could i of brought you here. Belle Reeve is a place of magic, that your mother found many years ago when we were running from...oih never mind that. tis silly nonscence. now what you must know is that..." 9

"wait, i want to know everything do not try to protect me from anything i am not a kid any more. i can handle it. tell me...please..."10

"alright but first let me introduce you to Miss Malcoy. she is the one who took me and your mother in all those years ago, but i must warn you she is not human."11

"what...what is she if she is not human?"12

"I am an immortal my dear. i do not age. i cannot bare young, and most importantly i must never leave belle reeve." said Miss Malcoy as she entered the room with a tray of sweets and tea.13

"oh i see you hear us mama" said ashlyee, " this is anna my niece... nick's young one"14

"you mean to tell me she has survived beyond these grounds, and how old is she now, 15?"15

"no ma'm, i am 16 as of a few hours ago." i said nervously16

"and you brought her here, what were you thinking Ashlyee? she cannot come to power not yet. you know that. not till nick has finished her task and had a chance to tell her, to explane to her. this is not fair to the child you should have know better."17

"i had no choice he found her..."18

"he what..."19

"he killed her family a year ago..."20

"tell me child what happened, in as much detail as you can remember..."21
