One Night Stand~Part One

I didn't know that that one day would change my life.  I also didn't know how much it would change my life. We were only friends but we did it anyway.  And as I sit here reading the results of the home pregnancy test I bought at Rite-Aid, I didn't know how to tell Matt orhow I even thought of the situation myself.  So I called the only person I thought would know what to do.1

"Hello," answered Lou groggily, more than likely sleeping off last night's party.2

"Hey, I desperately need your help," I said trying not to show any emotion in my voice.3

"What did you do this time," he asked, "and how important is it?"4

"I'm pregnant and I don't know how to tell the father."5

"And that would be...."6

"I can't divulge that kind of information at this point.  I'll tell you later."7

"How did it happen?"8

"Do you really want me to answer that?  I called you because you are a guy and my best friend.  How would you want someone to tell you that they were pregnant and you were the father?" I asked desperately wanting to end this conversation soon.9

"Well that would depend on the girl and whether or not I actually wanted to admit I slept with her," answered Lou with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.10

"IF I WANTED TO HEAR SOMETHING FUNNY I WOULD HAVE ASKED MY BROTHER WHAT TO DO! THAT WAY HE COULD JUST KILL ME AND I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING!"11

"Chill out! Just be honest with the guy and tell him that your pregnant, no reason to get into big theatricals over it."12

"Thanks, I appreciate it."  I hung up the phone ans stared down at the test some more.  Maybe I could just hand him the instructions and the test and he could figure it out himself.  I'll do it tomorrow, right now I need to shower and get ready for work.13

I grabbed the keys to my car off the table and a muffin from the basket my mother so lovingly laid out, and headed off to work. I turned on the radio and the song "But I'm Going to Love You Tonight" by Leeann Womack was playing.  I quickly changed the channel, the last thing I needed right now was a reminder of the one-night stand I had with Matt.14

It was the night after graduation, and there was a huge party down at the abandoned house on the river.  When me and Lou got there, most people were already stoned drunk and looking for a DD.  Lou went over to the keg and was getting himself a beer and I was pouring myself what was left of the margaritas when I saw Matt standing over in the corner looking out the window.  For some reason, his figure in the moonlight captivated me so I walked over.15

"Hey," I said attempting to sound smooth, "how's it going?"16

"All right I guess," he answered looking down at me.17

And that's when I fell for him.  His deep blue eyes dreagged me in hook, line, and sinker.  He moved a strand of hair out from my face and traced my jaw with a finger. I ran my hand down his arm and took his hand in mine and we made our way to his truck.  We drove down an old dirt road for what seemed like miles away, at least I hoped it was.  He got out, went over to my side to let me out, and led me to the back.  He let down the tail gate and laid out a blanket he brought from the truck.  The way he just picked me up by the waist like I was weightless was like floating on air.  He set me down and hopped up beside me and pulled a cooler from the back of the truck.18

Matt handed me a beer and asked me what my plans for the summer were.  I told hiim I was working at the restaurant on the golf course as a waitress.  He told me he was working at the plant starting Monday.  For what seemed like hours, we just sat on the tailgate listening to the frogs in the distance and watched the fireflies twinkle.  I finished my beer and he took it from my hand and sat it back in the cooler with his.  He put his arm around me and laid me down on the bed of the truck.  He leanded over me; we locked eyes as he reached around and untied my halter top. I reached up and cupped his face in my hand and drew him down for a long kiss.  To my surprise it was very good.19

He began giving me a hickey on my neck as he took his free hand and ran it down and played with my nipple.  I reached around and planted both hands firm on his hands.20
