People who are truly evil will always be evil, no matter how little hope or how long the time frame might be. After Lord Voldemort's sudden demise, his followers were ever so quick to scatter and forget all about him. Many of them were caught, of course, but among the few that got away was Rabastian Lestrange, brother-in-law of the late Bellatrix Black. It didn't take long for the few stray Death Eaters to get restless and set out for the lost Tomb of Salazar Slytherin, hoping it held some form of ancient evil that they could set loose upon the unsuspecting and recently happy world. of course they never found it and neither did their children, but the only reason any of them stopped is because they were either too old or too crazy to continue searching. Their children left them with with the promise they would find it for them before they shipped them off to the Elderly Wizard and Mentally Ill Home for the Disimpared (EWMIHD or the retirement home). Of course, they didn't believe them for one minute and set a spell to make sure that they did. It didn't take long for a few of them to get out of their retirement home though and the crazy old men were back at it.1
"We have been digging though rubbish for the past two months, Rolland!" complained Rolland Lestrange's, the recently released son of Rabastian, wife. "I want to go home. The children will be missing us."2
"The children are grown woman, so keep searching!"3
So they kept searching and searching and searching, sure that the castle was his, but all they found was the remnants of a once vibrant home. They had almost given up hope when they came across and old, heavy trunk. In the hope that it was at least gold the took the long unopened trunk home to try and pry it open, unaware at what they had really found. When they got there their daughter-in-law through a royal fit. 4
"Get zat disgusting zing out of my house! I will not have eet on my nize clean floor." Camilla whirled towards her husband like a tiny French tornado. "How can you stand zere and let zem do zat!"5
"Camilla, darling, it's just an old trunk. My dad could be dragging in much worse at this point."6
"I don't care. I want eet gone, Lawrence."7
"Fine. Dad, come on. Let's take it outside."8
"You can't have it! It's mine!" The old man clutched to the trunk while his wife stood behind him clucking.9
"Just let him have it Rolland."10
"Shut your mouth, woman!"11
"Dad- just give it..." Lawrence managed to tug it away and he immediately took outside and chucked it into their old shed where it sat for a few months.
