Lyla Pyre:A Character For Writer's Effigy's Entropy

Date of Birth:Unknown. Was found in an orphanage, abandoned in a basket weaved from willow. 2

Background:Lyla has so far not given any clues to what race she has descended from. There was a suspicion that she was an Archangel's daughter, owing to her good looks, but that soon changed when a real Archangel arrived in town. There was a time when she showed signs of being an Elf, but when given to an Elfish family, she was promptly returned, owing to a sudden phobia she'd developed for elves. Exasperated, Lyla's caretaker gave up on finding her family.3

Looks:Lyla is commonly seen wearing gowns, a fashion she adopted from the rich ladies of Magus, and something she has religiously continued to do even though gowns are now seen as a sign of poverty. She has long scarlet hair, and a nose which is not very prominent because it doesn't exist at all. Lyla's caretaker once tried referring her to a wizard in the capital, but Lyla is opposed to having her face magically restored, and prefers her nose as it is(Or isn't.)Her eyes are golden in colour, and her skin is the color of the leaves that fell when her caretaker has shaken a tree to set up a romantic atmosphere around Lyla and her best friend Arthur(The relationship was as short as the miniature dwarfs Arthur sold for a living), therefore the surname 'Pyre'.4

Occupation:Lyla's biggest ambition, after being a belly dancer, and before being a gooseberry farmer, was being one of the coveted rich ladies of Magus, where she lived. Apparently, the fastest way to do this was to marry one of the rich men of Magus, one of whom was a scrawny copper-haired boy called Arthur. Arthur soon went away to join a group of necromancers, and was prompty killed by a particularly violent spirit he summoned. Lyla has been in a state of mourning ever since. However, she never forgot her ambition to be a belly dancer, and now spends her time entertaining other rich men in the inns of Magus. She also used Arthur's life insurance to buy a gooseberry farm.She spends her time on an anti-alchohol campaign too, though this has got her fired from her inn twice5

Magical abilities: Lyla has a talent for shooting stars. After several complaints of fireworks being bursted in Magus, Lyla was finally busted by a particularly intelligent elf of a neighbourhood town. Lyla dreamed of pursuing a romantic relationship with him for a while, but apparently, he was too busy pursuing his philosophical studies, which included finding the mysterious man who could explain how Entropy was created. Lyla did manage to summon the man using a few spells from Arthur's necromancy books, but as soon as she did, her crush disappeared.6

Personality: Lyla is a very naive and innocent person. She does not dream of a life beyond Magus. However, she is always making friends, as people find her easy to trust. That is why she is privy to almost all the doings of the people of Entropy, even those which happen in faraway places like Carmilye, which is four hundred miles away from Entropy. People are always trying to get secrets out from her, and she always manages to unknowingly blurt them out, and doesn't even realize when that person leaves. She is always chattering away, sometimes even to walls.7
