The little home sat under the hill hidden amongst the trees. There no birds sang, no animals frolicked, and only a tiny mouse nibbled on some grass on top the house. A small puff of smoke fluffed out of a hole that served as a chimney. Inside, a tiny fire kept only one corner warm as well as a small stew. It was dim but homey inside. Only one room composed of the whole house. Here bed, chairs, table, shelves filled with books, and an old couple shared the same space. All the furniture was wood made and crafted in the finest styles. Flowers dotted the room as she loved to surround herself in beauty. He kept the place from falling apart, a fix-it man. They lived happily alone in their own little world. The house reflected them, their happiness, their peace, their wish to only be together with each other, and their love.

Love this! The house seems so homey and comfy and like home. I was just imagining the flowers outside and the wood furniture. Beautiful!

Dear Writer,
This is not drabble...it is a lovely portrait of a simple and warm home. I love that you included within your description something about the inhabitants; the two clearly make the home what it is: beautiful for her with her flowers and wholeness to him with his repairs.
Thank you for entering.
