.My Special Place.
To say that actually have a place to identify as a "home" would be a lie, due to the fact that most of the time I don't want to be there...so I will describe my special place/house for you. A place my mind often wanders too.1
My special place is located on the edge of a beach, so when I am there I can look out into the ocean. It's a little house that sits just where the sand and the grass meet. It's warm and cozy, always bright. The colors all remind me of certain things from my life. Like the white outer coating, which makes me think of those wonderful times in the winter as a child with my family. The blues and greens inside make me think of summer memories on the lake which I don't ever want to forget. The floors are made of wood, that always bring back the times when I used to watch my dad build. And the walls and the shelves are full of my art and my photographs that I have taken. Palm trees are all around on the outside. Sitting in this little old house makes me happiest even if most of the time it's just visualizing it in my mind. 2

I think you did more than just "tried." You succeeded.
You painted for me the portrait of where "home" is in your mind, and for many people, me included, that "home" is more important than a physical place.
I liked that you provided a background to why things were as you described. I am fond of wood floors too.
It sounds like a place that I would like to visit.
