**A disturbing personal diary found among the effects of physicist Dr. Alexander Zimmerman after his sudden disappearance in February of 1947**4

“I have come to what I, at first, thought to be a great ancient city. I soon learned that I could not have been farther form the truth. I had, in all actuality, stumbled into a wealth of information that could very well save our world and humanity from utter destruction. I can not describe how I have come to find this information. It is a risk even sharing the information. Nevertheless, I feel that I must, at the very least, share my findings. Now, as you read this journal, please read with an open mind, and take as truth my extraordinary encounter with the Citadel of Delphi. 5

A Description of the Citadel of Delphia6

By: Dr. Alexander Zimmerman7

The Earth of Delphia:8

In order to understand Delphia, one must first understand its location and era. Delphia is a city on earth. Not earth as we currently know it, however. It is earth in the near future, yet civilization seems to have regressed to a more primal stage, living much as the people of the dark ages. This particular era is interesting because it is a time when the skin between the natural and supernatural realms of earth has been torn away, thus ending life as we know it and propelling humanity into trials such as what I experienced in my time in the citadel of Delphia.9

The Geography of Delphia:10

The earth is divided up into three major inhabitations; the Eastern Plains, the Western Plains, and the Island Nations. Delphia is one of the largest cities of the Western Plains. It lays about a day’s walk inland from Middle Sea (which I believe to be the Atlantic). With the shores to the east and an endless plain to the west, Delphia is deeply coveted by the Vaithin (I’ll cover them in later in the journal) and their armies.11

The Beauty of Delphia:12

Upon entering Delphia, one would swear that they had stepped straight into the Renaissance. The architecture is breathtaking. Everything is made of large blocks of stone; marble in the more important buildings and granite in buildings such as homes and market places. The buildings bring back memories of stories of knights and princesses. Towers, buttresses, battlements, columns, and beautiful archways compliment every building. Writing these words simply does not do justice to its beauty.13

The city itself is surrounded by a massive (at least fifty meters high and ten meters thick) granite wall. At the base of the granite wall are twelve iron gates. Through each gate, runs one of the twelve roads that lead to Delphia. Inside the city the dirt roads glisten in the sun. At first, I thought them to be adobe or shale, but soon learned that the dirt roads actually glittered because of gold dust. Each of the gold dust laden roads led directly to the center of Delphia (about an hour’s walk) where the palace stood. The palace (where I had the honor of spending most of my time) is a huge green marble building. In its center is the King’s court. The king (whom I will also address later) does not live in Delphia, but the citizens have one awaiting, should the need arise. Surrounding the central court are twelve towers, also of green marble. The towers stand in a perfect circle around the King’s court. Each of the towers house one of the King’s ambassadors. The ambassadors are the King’s delegates to rule over Delphia and maintain order in his stead. 14

Outside the city is equally beautiful. To the north are the orchards and vineyards of the finest fruit I have ever tasted. To the south are the livestock farms. To the east is the small port town of Ostan. The merchants of Delphia would travel to Ostan monthly to trade with other merchants from the Eastern Plaines across Middle Sea. To the west of Delphia lay planes as far as I could see. The grass was so brilliantly green. It shone so brightly when the sun hit it that it seemed to be carved of emerald jewels. That is how it was when I got there, but I am afraid it did not stay that way for long.15

The Inhabitants:16

Though the people of Delphia lived well, the people in most of the rest of the world did not. Since the Great Revealing (this is what they had called the ripping of the skin between the worlds), there have been three dominant races fighting for dominion. There were the Human, the Rhibum, and the Vaithin.17

The Humans:18

The Human race was (at the time of my encounter) was the dominant race of earth, allied with the Rhibum and at war with the Vaithin. Humans had undergone some unique changes at the Great Revealing. Certain people were gifted with certain abilities. Some were healers, gifted with the ability to heal. Others were seers, gifted with the ability of foresight. Even rarer than healers and seers were the magi. These were the few humans able to operate in miraculous ways beyond the arena of normal belief. Most of the rest of humanity were warriors, those gifted with skills in battle and trained by the Rhibum.19

The Rhibum:20

I must first attempt to describe the Rhibum’s physical appearance. Aside from their massive wings, the Rhibum were human-like in appearance, yet three times the size of even the largest human. They were muscular and trained for war, masters of the sword. There do not seem to be any Rhibum children and some of them are very hard to distinguish when it comes to gender (I personally believe that they have none) since they are so strong and brutish yet elegant and beautiful. They seem to have a peculiar interest in serving the Humans (in my encounters with the Rhibum, I was often treated as royalty) and a deeply rooted drive to protect and fight for them. Their social interaction is very militant, existing in specific rank, file, and order. They were always about business, yet in a joyous manner. Still they never seemed to speak. And they were always on guard, ready for an attack of the Vaithin.21

The Vaithin:22

The Vaithin are known by the humans as the destroyers. They prey on the humans by luring them away individually to corrupt or kill them, or by attacking en mass in battle. I was fortunate enough to only have two encounters with these vile beasts, (which accounts for my lack of knowledge about their race) but in those two encounters I have had enough to last me an eternity. First, they have an ability to effect ones perception of them, a mental shape shifting, if you will. My first encounter it “appeared” to me in the orchards as a beautiful woman. She (or it) tried to entice me away from Delphia and convince me that the inhabitants of the citadel were only out to kill me. Her voice washed over in waves of seduction, sending me into a near drunkenness. This showed me that their destruction is in their words and ability to affect the human mind. My second encounter was on the eve of a great battle. An enormous beast twice the size of the Rhibum, with a massive sword met a camp of soldiers screaming out threats against us. I was instantly paralyzed with fear and turned to run back to the citadel. The soldiers assured me that it was all a ruse and to look at it closer. I did and saw it in its true form. It was a tall gangly man-beast, bones protruding from tight malnourished skin. Its sharp teeth gnashed through gnarled bloody lips. Its eyes were shallow pools of inky blackness. It stood there in its tattered black robe screeching raspy threats. All in all, a rather unimpressive foe.23

The Government:24

The government of Delphia is this: Lauhym is high king over the Humans and the Rhibum. The Rhibum have a deep mystic respect for him and seem to be his servants to the Humans. Those Humans who worship him are his under-rulers. Lauhym is never seen, but his under-rulers manage to keep his kingdom in balance. Laws are set in place by Lauhym and enforced by the ambassadors who are simply very old under-rulers.25

The War:26

The Vaithin hate the Humans, especially the under-rulers. They believe that the earth should belong to them. The earth has, in fact, belonged to them off and on through the ages (which is the issue of human survival I will address later on) as different under-rulers passed it off to them. They desire to capture the cities and kill all the Humans and Rhibum with no clear reason. The Humans fight in defense, taking back stolen territories with the help of the Rhibum. According to inhabitants, no one remembers there ever not being a war with the Vaithin. It is growing tiresome and under-ruler warriors are growing scarce. Civilians rarely enlist as warriors, and upon my arrival several cities to the west had fallen to the Vaithin. Just before my departure, the Vaithin had overthrown Delphia. I do not know its ultimate fate.27

This is where my warning comes. If Delphia falls, the Vaithin will easily overthrow Ostan and gain control of the Middle Sea. If that happens the Eastern Plain will be surrounded by Vaithin navy in both Middle Sea and Far Sea. In the long run. If Delphia falls, so does Humanity. That is what I am warning you about. What I am about to tell you may sound far fetched and lack sufficient details, but that is how it must be. I can not tell you how I know this, but I can tell you that I know it. The war between the Vaithin and the Rhibum has been raging since the beginning of time. That means it is raging now in our age. The “skin” has not yet been ripped, so we can not see it as the citizens of Delphia can. But it still exists, and we, the Humans, are very much an active part of the war, and much can be done to help our race survive. This is all I can safely say, but there are many who can tell you more. Those who have seen what I have seen without being there. There always have been. Simply ask the great prophet Daniel.28

I have done all that I can do to help. I can only hope you do not dismiss me as a quack or decide my journal is a hoax in the wake of my disappearance (I will soon “disappear” for the sake of not being questioned in my method of collecting such information. Such a revelation could wreak more destruction than what I have been cursed to see.) Thank you and good bye. 29

What was this whole thing exactly?
I mean, of course, it was really good and stuff, but what was the actual Delphia, Vaithin and Rhibum? What was the skin
    Please answer my questions soon.

this is amazing. I couldn't stop reading. I love how you make it like a government file like that. Hmmm. Great job!
