Gazing out over the rooftops from her upstairs window, the first snow of the winter began to cover them in a white blanket set aglow by the rising moonlight.1
A knock on her door and her mom popped in her cheery face. "Delivery for you child", her kindly mouth curled in a bow.
Her baby sister pushing through between her mom and the door. Holding up the bundle of flowers and a card nearly dropping from the wrapping. Hm-mm ...she thought, and then pushed them away. You take them Mom, really, just take them. Shaking her head she gathered the small child with the flowers and motioned to the door. Well, you need to come out of this room sooner or later . Her Mom had been right, closing the door again and flopping onto the ample sized bed. Rolling back over she thought over their last conversation. 2
I just can not bear risking the chance of trusting anyone again. The thought had dance in her head all week.3

Then the door to her bedroom burst open and standing before her wrapped like a Christmas present and tracking in snow. Was the man who had not taken no for an answer and now held her in his arms.
