'Half past eleven and she doesn't even know I'm gone' Sinder thought as she pushed closer to this charming morsel in The Glass Slipper exclusive night club. The music pulsed through every vein in her body as the tension between the two began to climax, closer and closer, excitement coursed through her every muscle, that is until she heard that awful sound. The club's Midnight Madness chimed in with the classic tolling of the bell. That was her cue to leave. Grabbing the hand of the guy she was dancing with she pulled him towards a corner near the exit.1
Teasingly she tugged him a tad bit closer. Winking slyly as she bent towards the floor to retrieve her bag. The guy stepped up behind her and followed her waist as she stood. He whispered in her ear asking what she was doing. 2
"I gotta run babe, it's been fun", she said as she turned and touched his cheek. "When do I get to see you again?" inquired the boy as her leaned in to kiss her. She moved back so that his lips barely brushed against the side of her mouth. "Well come on Baby girl, at least give me a name" Smiling Sinder winked and bounced out the the door, leaving a piece of paper with her number scrawled across it under the wiper blade of a red Grand AM. 3
Rushing through the window she threw off her shoes and turned to plug in her cell phone... Where was it? Dammit! She must have left it at the club! She double checked through everything, rustling through her bag. Suddenly she heard a noise somewhere in the house. Flinging off her tiny blue skirt and matching tube top and jumping into jammies, she hit the lights and hit the covers. Not even a minute later her stepmother threw open her bedroom door and clicked on the light. Sinder held her breath as the woman stood in the doorway, terrified of what she figured would come next. Being the only outcast of the family, she had always had it harder. Finally the women left the room, door still ajar, hall light on. 4
Breakfast time came and Sinder quietly came down stair. Grabbing a banana from the kitchen she turned to leave when she heard the coffee cup tap the table. Turning around she saw she stepmother sitting at the bar by the living room.5
"Where exactly were you last night Sinderella?" she asked in that sickening calm voice. Nervously she muttered, "What do you mean, I was.. I was in my room"
"Bullshit" she said venomously as she stood up and advanced on the girl, "Don't lie to me dammit, I watched you treading across my lawn in your little hussy skirt. Just like all last week."
Tearing up Sinder kept walking backwards as the snake approached from the front, "I just went out with friends... we went dancing, just me and some of the girls."
The woman lifted her hand and brought it down on the side of her face, "Lying little skank. I hear about how you act at school, my girls tell me everything. What if you end up knocked up? Do you think it effects you? Your action put a name on my house and on my family. Who's this boy you were with last night?"
Sinder slide down the wall hoping to stay out of the reach of her wicked stepmother as she cried, "I wasn't with a---" again the women lashed out at her, striking the side of her head and kicking at her as she cut Sinderella off. --"I told you not to lie to me, the boy who called my home this morning from YOUR phone. What where you doing last night where this boy would have you phone? You nasty little whore" she yelled smacking her again, "this is the final straw. Your father won't even notice your gone"6
The women looked down at the girl in a huddled mass one the floor and turned back towards the kitchen. At the table those two awful children of hers sat eating there breakfast, watching the scene. Snickering they got up and followed their mother to the living room, hissing back into the room before they left, 'Slut'.7
Sinder picked herself up off the floor and drug herself up the stairs. 'This is the last time I drag myself up these' she thought to herself. Limping passed her room, she made her way to her fathers study. Breaking the glass to large cabinet near the buckskins. She remembered when she was younger going shooting with her dad, he only ever owned one gun her would go to the range with. Pulling out her fathers favorite toy she clung to it and cried, cuddling her only real memory of a time before all this.8
Going down stairs she glanced into the lair of her stepmother.
"Um...", she mumbled knocking gently, "Can I use the phone so I can get mine back... ma'am"
"Don't patronize me you spoiled little brat", she snapped "and no you may not. I told that boy to bring it here to me."
"But he doesn't know where---"
"I'm not stupid! I gave him the address and you need not worry about it anymore. You no longer have a phone, in fact, until I decide where your going, you'll be going no where. So you don't need one. You may leave" she said dissmissing her.9
Upset Sinder turned and found herself face to face with her supposed sisters. Trying to push past them the catty girls jostled her and pushed her all the way to the stairs, picking at her hair, trying to get a reaction. But she knew better then to retaliate. One of the two followed her up the stairs as the other one ran to answer her ringing phone, slamming shut her door and blasting music. The one continued her assault on Sinder until she reached her room. Sinderella walked into her room and the sister made the mistake of following her to far.10
Flopping down on her bed was the bad enough but when she ripped the picture of Sinder and her father off the wall she made up her mind for her. 11
She picked up the smooth action pistol and pointed it at her sisters back, smiled, and pulled the trigger, one two three. She then walked to the bed and took the picture from her twitching fingers. Still smiling she walked out into the hall, listening to the conveniently loud music coming from the next room. 12
Opening the door she looked at her remaining sister as the bitches face went from her snotty usual pig-nosed self to a terrified trembling little girl, she lifted the gun and waited for the scream, lavishing in it as the blood curdling sound blended into the music, then, within seconds stopped.13
Leaving her lying half way off the bed gurgling for air, Sinder walked to the window and looked outside, from down the road she saw a cute little red Pontiac headed towards the only house on this dead end street. Smiling she threw on an outfit of her sisters, since she wouldn't need it anymore and tossed her hair into a cute little bun. 14
Glancing out the window again she saw it getting closer and she turned and ran down the stairs. She opened the front door and waved at the car, then heard the voice of just the woman she wanted to see. Calling from her dungeon she asked who was leaving the house.15
"I am" Sinder said coolly walking back into the house and towards the bathroom the voice came from.
"I thought I told you you weren't to leave the house" her stepmother said in her menacing tone she loved using on the usually defenseless abused girl.
"Yeah, you did" said the girl laughingly as she watched her stepmothers face as she turned around, looking down the barrel of Sinderella's greatest wish come true, "But my rides here" She smirked and pulled the trigger, the close range shot sending droplets of blood all over the white white jacket she was borrowing.16
Sighing heavily Sinder said out-loud to her reflection, "Even causing me trouble after she's gone" she shed the jacket and slipped the pistol into her bag.17
Skipping out the door, she made sure it was locked and tossed her key into the hedges surrounding her former prison. 18
Sinderella walked gleefully towards her very own Happily Ever After.
