"Oh my gosh, I'm fat.."1

"Sadie, you are not fat. Stop saying that."2

"Yes I am, Kelsi. Look at this!"3

Sadie walked to to my long mirror and lifted up her shirt. She grabbed her stomach and frowned. 4

"I am too fat. Look at what's in my hands, Kelsi. It's not skin, or abs, or muscle. It's fat! And a lot of it!"5

I looked away trying to hide my reaction. She did have extra skin I would say.6

"It isn't fat. Maybe it's just baby fat that hasn't gone away. Or just extra skin.." I explained.7

She pulled her shirt back down and sat on my bed again. "I just want to make it go away. I'm unnatractive. No guys like me and everyone teases me. I'm worthless."8

I stood up out of reflex and yelled, "Sadie! You are not fat! You don't need to make it go away! The only reason you don't get guys is because you're always negative about everything! You never even try!" We both sat in silence the next ten minutes.9

"Sadie, I'm sorry. It's just, I don't want you to change just so you can impress someone. You already have a best friend that loves you."10

"But Kelsi, you are blonde, tall, skinny, blue eyes, and you have the most amazing boyfriend in this Galaxy! You don't even need to try! Iv'e always been jealous of you!..."11

I looked away. "Let's just go to sleep" I suggested. We climbed under the covers and I turned off my lamp.12

The next moning, Sadie left early. She told me she didn't feel well. "Bye," I said. "I hope you feel better. Love you!"
She hugged me goodbye, climbed in her mother's car, and drove off. 13

I didn't hear from Sadie sinse her last "Goodbye".
I found out three weeks later that she overdosed on pills to make her skinny. I understand that she was miserable in her body, but she took her own life. I just lost my best friend..
