As the night grew colder and they moved in closer, holding each other tight in their arms, they watched the tide come in as the wind blew sand across their skin. It stung, and the air was freezing cold, but they didn't care- they cuddled in and wished for the night to never end. At an instant they had fallen in love, wanting to be with each other forever, knowing they were meant to be. It was fate, and they both knew it.1
The salt from the sea breeze was crystallizing on their skin. As he sat up and held her close, looking into her eyes, their lips momentarily touched, and for that second, they had never felt closer. He tasted the salt on her mouth, and she moved her hand up to touch his cheek. Suddenly, a wave splashed onto the shore and they were sprayed with cold sea water. They both giggled and laid down next to each other, looking up to the stars as she rested her head on his chest, their hands locked together like nothing could ever pull them apart. 2
They fell asleep, and awoke the next day to a crowded beach filled with running children and colourful umbrellas and towels lining the sand. The sun was beating down on them, and their clothes were soaking wet. They stood up and smiled at each other, he put his arm around her and they walked off together into the sunlight.
Author notes
I am so sick of reading depressing stories. Every second story I come across has a bad ending or some kind of tragedy. What ever happened to a good old fashioned love story WITH A HAPPY ENDING?!
This short scene might seem cliche, but I don't care... I needed some happiness and I figured why not write it myself.
Please tell me what you think.

Hi!
This is really quite good, I think, and well written. I feel that it would be better if it were incorporated into a longer story. It feels a little incomplete. We know nothing about the couple. Also, I would have like for there to be more, but I actually chose to read this one because it was short
. I guess that makes me rather silly
