Such a delicate operation to remove feathered wings from an Angel, they cared not when they ripped my wings from my back though. Tearing them from my blades to leave unholy wounds that will never close or re-grow ... just tiny little stumps left where my pride once was... 2
….but the fools sitting up there on their golden throne of jewels forgot one tiny little itsy bitsy detail ... how easy it was to corner and kill an Angel for their wings ... it had been done before ... we had heard of it happening ... another fallen angel had told us of how he had attached the wings of an Angel he had stumbled across after his murderous rampage through the streets of Berlin one night, but he didn't think to help us out of our misery that night he landed on our shores. 3
We even had the perfect instruction of how to do it … it was however a very dainty procedure indeed and why Anéthiel insisted on me performing the operation was beyond me, her hands were much more slender and better for the job, but they were my wings after all and I want this to be as swift and as simple as possible ... Anéthiel will be dead soon, and I will once again be soaring through the skies as I should be … where I belong.4

Now just to remember what it was that guy had said ... hmmm ... It had to be done with just the perfect ease of precision so as not to sever too close to any little ... oops. 6
"Careful Nathaniel" ... god I hated it when she hissed at me!!7
Perhaps a little too close, just a surface wound, nothing that will affect them being used in all their glory on my back ... ah yes ... my back ... I'll be up their soaring in the clouds once again … no longer stuck on this god forsaken island of savages where we fell. 8
There were no boats to even carry us to decent soil ... stuck here for Christ knows how long we've even been on this fetid island out in the middle of nowhere ... nothing but humpy's as houses every few miles a village of idiots. Oh yes, to be back on the land of the living ... I will soar with the sea eagles across this ocean and back to civilisation ... yes ... and then I'll be perfect again ... perfect ... 9
"You did it Nathaniel, I knew you could"10
You won't be smiling soon my precious Anéthiel.11
"Hurry Nathaniel darling ... attach them to my back while they are still fresh".. 12
"Ahhh ... no, no Anéthiel ... wouldn't it make more sense if they were attached to mine? I am, after all, the stronger of us, and I will be able to carry you across this vast ocean as the beautiful Angel that you are and should be lifted above others." I looked at her for the first time in quite some time… truly looked at her… into her eyes, which had narrowed. I could see it then; she meant to do the same to me as I planned to do to her. I forced a smile, enough to show the Nathaniel that she loves and trusts... 13
"You're absolutely right Anéthiel, you are my beautiful Angel and the wings should be on your back ... you can carry us to a new sanctuary my love ... there we will get my wings and together we will fly once more in the twilight" I replied softly and smoothly, her eyes widen with affection, just where I want her to be.14
I lean in to kiss her as the wings slowly fall to the ground from within my grip ... I embrace her, my lips press against hers ... I pull her in close and watch her eyes open as I kiss her, her pupils dilate as I begin to suck the life out of her delicate frame...15
… She has realised and begins to struggle, clawing at my shoulders, trying to pull away ... but, too late, good to see I still have the magic touch after being stuck on this damn island so long. I feel her body go limp in my arms. I was lucky then, I know that, for she had a strength and a power to fear, I know not whether I could have overpowered her had she been expecting it. Carefully, I lower her to the floor and straighten her out until she is lying flat. 16
She looks beautiful there, more so than ever before and believe me when I say that that is near impossible. For never have I set eyes on one such as my love, thrown together from those golden gates of hell we were, doomed to wander where we landed in this mortal world for eternity without our wings…17
… Until now.18
Delicately, I press a kiss to her frozen lips as I allow a single tear to fall for her. She was everything to me, she was my world, even if she was a bitch at times… but my wings were always my pride and without them, I was nothing.19
Without her wings, she was nothing.20
I turned away from her then, and glanced down at the beautiful white wings with nothing short of adoration in my eyes. Even after everything that had happened here on this day, they remained untouched of everything. 21
Carefully, I stroked a hand over the velvety soft feathers…22
… and then froze. 23
I was a fool. The girl was dead and had been for a while now, my love was dead thanks to me… and I have wings here, wings I had desired since I fell what must have been millennia’s ago… wings that needed to be attached within an hour after being removed, or they would fall apart and crumble like the body of their original owner…24
… What I didn’t have, was an angel … fallen or otherwise … to attach them to my back.25
I could do nothing but sit there weeping tears of rage, anger and despair as my dreams crashed around me once more. I could do nothing but watch as the wings slowly turned to dust in my hands, leaving me stranded on this forsaken island…26

This was an amazing write! Beautifully written... I loved all your descriptions (except the thing with the eye... it was very well done but that was a little too gross for me... but it was needed to show the extent of her cruelty). I liked the twist at the end... The change of narrative from one angel to another was really effective, it got the reader into the mind of each character. I truly loved it!! Congratulations to both you and Tainted Whisper!!

Damn! that ending was brilliant. selfish bastard. exactly why he was shunned. wickedness knows not of true beauty and compassion. just desserts. This story was marvelous. and quite inspiring. i am working on a story about fallen angels, hell purgatory all that. have been for a while...my stories are far from short though. anyway! i loved this. you two collaborating was awesome!

I would have commented sooner, but I wanted to wait until all three peices were done before I read. So, now let me say.. that this is one of the most amazing stories I have ever read.
The first part came on lightly and set up the storyline a little bit, although you could have jam-packed it.. you didn't.. you made it just strong enough to make the reader want to read the second part. This was the perfect thing to do.. Because the second part made it completely impossible to stop reading, it was so captivatingly evil, I loved every moment of it. And, the third part gave the perfect ending, a story of love and betrayel, put together in such a dark twisted manner.
..priceless.
