Heavenly Conflict - Teaser Intro

When the first angel came down from heaven and stood with Man in his fight against evil, the Believers knew that their prayers had finally been answered – that God the Almighty was indeed listening. And watching.1

Micheal was the angel called – God's warrior angel, sent to help Mankind in their heavenly crusade against the forces of evil, who answered to the Devil Incarnate, Antichrist – the man who had taken the world by storm when he rose to public knowledge as the idealist, the pacifist, the perfect person to lead the world in discovering unity as never before.2

But all this was foretold in the Bible. Antichrist would be he – the deceiver, the liar, Lucifer Incarnate, whose object was to bring the world under the Dark Angel's thrall, and avert the Second Coming.3

But some were prepared. Some knew the truth. And no matter how they were ridiculed, laughed at, dismissed as fanatics, they stood firm, and declared Holy War on the great deceiver. 4

And so the great Judgment began – with the world choosing sides and determining their faith whether in the one true God or Antichrist, the Devil Incarnate.5

Chaos ensued as the world struggled to comprehend that there were supernatural forces out there after all, and they came head to head with each other now in a cataclysmic battle for our faith. Governments collapsed, only to reform under one man – Antichrist, him with his smooth lies and deception and talk of a New World Order, one where there would be prosperity, unity, richness ... but no mention of any faith but the one the Antichrist proclaimed was right. The Dark Angel had his following.6

The Believers, as they christened themselves, rebelled and fought against the unholy usurpation of Antichrist, recruiting like-minded souls who whole-heartedly believed in God and his message, others who had seen through the Antichrist's lies, lost people to his purge.7

Fight they did, on a worldwide scale, preaching, teaching, battling for their faith, always believing that the Lord God had not forgotten them.
And He had not.
8

For here was Micheal, Sword of God and prepared to lead the Believers in a new uprising against the evil forces of the Devil Incarnate.9

But trouble brews in the bowels of Hell, as unimaginable evil is prepared to be let loose on the mortal world, taking the Holy War to a whole new level.
Which side will ultimately prevail? Is the future one of light and hope? Or are we doomed to live through eternal fire and darkness?

    Interesting

Yes, I would like to see you continue. This idea does seem like it comes from Revelation, but more toward the end before God calls judgement. I can't remember what chapter. We're studying the book in my Sunday school class. Very interesting subject.

Been reading Revelation RJ? If this was any closer to the Great War that Michael the Archangel is supposed to head up (The Battle of Harmageddon), God would have you for copyright infringement.

Good enough concept, and though a similar treatment of the premise has been used before, I'd be interested to see where you go with it.

Personally this is not my type of reading material. As a teaser it is descriptive and leaves me the reader without doubt of the contents If I were to pick up this book to read.
I can say I neither liked nor disliked this. It was well written and easy for a reader such as myeslf to get through. Since it is not of material that I normally read.
    Hope it helps

Your writing moves along briskly without becoming rushed.

Boy was I glad the sun was out this morning before I started this ., .

    Hi Randy,
--very nice teaser here . It captures the reader's imagination leaving them with a desire to discover more.

Your writing moves along briskly without becoming rushed. Your character are easy to visualize.

Did you intended to use this as a prologue for a novel or an introduction into a shorter work?

While this concept of conflict between good and evil is as old as mankind itself, you have a unique manner of portraying it .

With the vast amount of information you have compiled, the interesting characters and situations you've drawn, I wouldn't like to see you settle for less than a 70,000 word manuscript.

    beginning: 5, characters: 5.

Huh .. for some reason, the fact that this was a religious themed sort of story and you had two prayer emotes ...

For now, this is a starting idea in my vast library of starting ideas. Who knows whether I'll get the time to write a full manuscript?
And plus, it's too much similar to the Left Behind series that I might not even try.

Thanks for your uplifting comment, though.

    Nice.....

Very descriptive, but a little too heavy. Maybe you should drop the theme because I'm not sure too many people'll want to read this-Not that it's bad. Your writing's very good, just the subject that's a bit touchy. Still interesting though.
I like the idea of an angel apart of God's army coming to the rescue.(Not like a super heroe or anything)I just can't stand the name Michael. It reminds me of that movie with John Travolta. (Not the story-The name and the fact that they're both coincidentally angels.)=)

"Michael" "ae" not "ea" unless that was done on purpose.

It sounds promising. Good and evil always makes for excellent storytelling, especially when the lines are clearly drawn and there is supernaturalness in the mix. I'd like to see some mention of those who don't/didn't believe there were these two sides, and what happens to them (some choose a side, others refuse to choose, that sort of thing)
Also, is your world leader actually named Antichrist? I couldn't quite see billions of people following someone with that name. Lucian or some hinty name, maybe...

It does put me in mind of the Left Behind series concept, but I haven't actually read it, and that story arc is specifically set after the secret rapture, I think (which not all Christian religions believe in, let alone non-Christians). So if you're going for a broader timeline than that, I think you've got plenty of room to have your supernatural war.

p9, replace the "and" after "Sword of God" with a comma

Nah -- I've yet to name that world leader character. =P Obivously not going to be Antichrist. Imagine the fear.

I've read the first four books of the Left Behind series, and still going - but that series is more spiritual, and, as you said, set in a specific Christian timeline. I'm just describing my little heavenly war.

      Thanks for your comment!

Have you read.... "Left Behind" by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins? If not... you should read that series.

*nod* Definitely strong possibility for a story idea. (Left behind is about the world endings days and how the Antichrist comes).

Yup - that's where the idea for this came from. Left Behind is more philosophical and moving - I'm writing from the perspective of those in the war - and not mentioning any specific Christian religion.
