The angel Gabriel came one night
To Mary in a dream, all dressed in white
“You’ve been chosen to fulfill the prophecy
To bear the Son of God so all will be free.”1
Joseph was weary; he could not hide his shame
Then an angel appeared saying, “Give her your name.”
They traveled by burrow, as Mary was not able
There in Bethlehem she gave birth in a stable2
The tiny babe lied awake in the manger
Where he was visited by three wise strangers
Guided from the east by a star so bright
Bearing their gifts for him in the night3
Knowing he’d be king o’er all the earth
Praise be to God for the Saviour’s birth
Escaping the evil that Herod had planned
He will bring peace to all the land4
A carpenter’s son, he honed his skill
And continued to proclaim his Father’s will
People would come from miles around
Saying hallelujah, the Messiah is found5
He spoke of salvation, deliverance from sin
It comes from the heart, deep down within
He said, “Walk with me, I will show you the way
The kingdom of heaven is yours if you pray.”6
He chose 12 men to learn the words of his Father
Fishermen, a tax collector, warriors and brothers
They spread the Gospel to the immoral and depraved
Saying believe in the Lord and you will be saved7
They would not denounce or condemn their God
For this they were stoned, and beaten with rods
They endured persecution all of their life
Living through hardships, suffering and strife8
They were all called to sup in the upper room
Before the crucifixion and sealing of the tomb
On the third day he rose through his Father’s grace
To go on ahead and prepare the place 9
As Christians we pray, our faith undeterred
Receiving salvation for believing His word
Awaiting the day, He’ll fulfill the prophecy
And take us to heaven where we’ll be set free10
“Christ”mas truly means, remember thy Lord
His sweet salvation is our holy reward
Live God’s word until we hear harps strumming
When we will rise up at his second coming

lovely poem. Yes this reflects much of what Christmas truly means. Though I can't help but notice there's nothing about loving thy fellow man.
this;
He spoke of salvation, deliverance from sin
It comes from the heart, deep down within
was especially nice though and really it all was very good.

Thank you for your comment, and you are right. I think I'll have to do some more editing. I just got lost in the story and missed the true symbolism of jesus = god's love for us. Have a wonderful christmas season.
