Werewolf Protectors

‘Wake, my love’ Came a soft voice from the dead and bare brush of the wintry forest. ‘Wake, my love and stand’ The hushed tone seemed to be coming from a woman of beautiful features. She sat, back straitened, kneeling beside a mangled corpse. 1

‘What a waste’ She whispered as she stood. A soft coal black dress fell, unfolding to the ground, hugging her stature, as she rose. Flakes of snow settled on the edge of the dress before melting into oblivion. This woman stood tall and proud, her features captivating, taking away the breath of any mortal who caught sight of her. Sharp cheek bones, almond shaped eyes colored gold, charcoal hair that fell to the small of her back, and beautiful tanned skin that was as warm as a summers day. 2

‘Vinea’ Another voice said from behind the goddess. She turned in a swift graceful movement. 3

‘Anëe’ Whispered the dark haired woman as a blonde female with equal features stepped out of the coverage. 4

The blonde who seemed to go by the name Anëe, spoke in a chime like voice. ‘You killed another?’ 5

Vinea lifted one side of her perfect mouth in a smile. ‘He cut himself on a branch’ 6

The female, Anëe, did not seem pleased, closing her eyes and shaking her diamond shaped face. ‘Self-control Vinea. That is the key’7

Vinea lifted her lips in a toothy grin, ‘It’s hard to resist the blood of mortals.’ Her almond eyes began to grow more and more yellow and her teeth extended growing sharper and deadlier. Bones began to crack as her legs and spine repositioned themselves. She dropped onto all fours, as black fur began to replace her silky dress and smooth hair. Finally her mouth extended into a muzzle with lips drawn back in a wolf-ish grin. 8

Anëe smiled crookedly. ‘Vinea, Vinea....’ Within a matter of seconds, An e burst into the same form as Vinea with cream white fur in the place of her white gown and blonde locks. 9

You will never learn. Anëe spoke through her mind.10

Why learn? When all we do is hide from what we can easily destroy? Came Vinea’s reply. Her voice, still soft, was edged with a harsher tone. 11

Why do you so easily want to destroy their race?12

Why do you want to protect them?13

Anëe’s lips drew back in a snarl as she turned to face Vinea’s charcoal wolf. Vinea! The humans would crumble before us if there was no one to save them!14

Vinea was getting equally frustrated as she drew her lips back, and her soft voice was engulfed by anger. Why do we protect them? You still do not answer my question! If they are so weak, they should be destroyed!15

We play not with the balance of nature Vinea! We do what we were created to do!16

And what exactly is that?17

To protect!18

Really Anëe? Is that was you believe?19

Yes, yes it is.20

Then tell me this Anëe, why is it human’s have come to fear us? Telling tales and stories of vicious bloodthirsty creatures baying at the full moon and killing all in their path?
21

That took Anëe a moment to think over her thoughts. But finally she looked up and said, reaching outward with her thoughts, Because of Lycans like you, Vinea. One’s who cannot control their urge to tear humans to shreds! She motioned to the lifeless body beside them.22

That pushed Vinea over the edge. A growl erupting from her throat, she lunged at Anëe with all her might, meaning to kill. It was hard to kill a Lycan, not many could do it. Humans, the weak forms they were sure couldn’t. Vampires could, and other Lycans could too.23

The two wolves bowled over each other with snaps and snarls. Golden Lycan blood spilled upon the snowy ground staining the white blanket. 24

Vinea! Growled Anëe through her teeth as they fought. This is foolish!25

Come on old wretch! Is this fight to difficult for your old bones?26

Vinea!
Anëe grumbled as she pinned Vinea down, her head hanging over a cliff. 27

Still the anger in Vinea would not die. Go on Anëe you old bag! Finish me!28

No.
Was all Anëe muttered before she stepped off Vinea and turned to walk away. 29

Foolish, ignorant crow! Shouted Vinea as she stood. Never turn your back on a fight! She lunged once more at Anëe nearing her throat. With incredible timing, Anëe turned and smacked Vinea with her forepaw’s, catching her on the throat and sending her flailing over the cliff. 30

Anëe stood up as she morphed back to her human form, staring over the cliff. ‘Vinea, Vinea...’ She repeated. 31

Interesting. I see how it looked like vampire, I've seen stories like this before, where it seems to be one thing but is really another. I liked this quite a bit. Well done!

    oooh!

Very interesting! Lissy likes! I adore the beautifully crafted description of the 'change' and the description of Vinea and Anee. Excellent imagery! The fight scene was very well done, and I really like your take on Lycans! The 'mind-talk' is also a very neat idea! Great job! You've captured the werewolf perfectly!
