As we drove in the car, i could smell my city floating away. Everything 1
that I once knew was disappearing before my eyes. I asked my dad where we2
were going, and he said Colorado. Colorado?... Colorado?! I had never 3
been in the country in my life, and i didn't want to start now. I was so 4
not looking forward to this. As we drove, I saw hundreds of gas stations,5
tons of trees, and billboards. But what I noticed most, were the people 6
in the other cars. I would just look at them, try to see into their lives7
and try to make up a story for them. I picture some of them rich and 8
having great lives, with beautiful children and wonderful spouses. Some 9
I see them on the streets begging for money just to feed themselves. Its 10
amazing what my mind can create. I start to slip into a light sleep. I 11
glanced at the clock, and it blinked 11:35. I looked up and saw the sign 12
WELCOME TO COLORADO pass by me. Almost there I thought. Almost.13
