Confused at Six

"But Mom!" a six year old boy wines to his mom "I'm not tired! I don't want to go to sleep yet, plus, I want to be home when Amy gets home from her trip!" His mother gets angry "Thomas! Go to sleep now! I don't want it to take over an hour to get you up for school in the morning! You'll be able to see her tomorrow anyway!" 1

Thomas starts to cry as he run up to his room and slams the door, gets scared as he hears his mothers foot steps coming up the stairs and closer to his room. He jumped into his bed acting as if he were already asleep, she opens the door "Thomas, I'll wake you up when your sister gets home from her trip, ok?" "Ok mommy" Thomas yawns a big yawn, gets comfortable under his covers as he tries to get to sleep. 2

Thomas wakes up a little after two o'clock in the morning, by the sound of his mothers crying, a blue light catches his eye from the window, he crawls to the end of his bed and opens the blinds to see a police car in his drive way. He goes down stairs to see his mother talking to a man in a white outfit, white hat, and a gold badge on his shirt, Confused, he goes up and hugs his mother. She wipes away her tears and tells him to go back to sleep. Thomas starts to cry "Mom, what is wrong? Let me stay up!" Instead of making the big fuss in front of the police officer, she decides to let him stay awake. 3

He listens to his mother talk to the man, "14 years old, her hair is dyed white, with red and black highlights, about 4 foot 9, here, here's a picture" He realizes shes describing his sister Amy.4
