He almost jumped as the oak door opened and someone bustled in. He looked with surprise as Samantha came and stood in front of him with a scowl. “Is that the baby you stole from Victor?” she demanded.1
Ty hugged the baby closer to him and scowled at her. Just go away, he thought angrily. She didn’t stop at that. “Why are you scowling at me like that? Can’t stand the competition, is that it?”2
“I don’t see you and me competing in anything together.” Ty muttered angrily.3
A deadly gleam entered her eyes as she moved closer to him and said “It seems that you don’t know that me and Victor had slept together.”4
For a moment Ty saw red as he said “There never was any “you” between me and Victor. If you think winning Victor is a competition I had won him ten years before you. There is no competition here.”5
“Oh, is that so? You seem to have conveniently ignored the part in which I said I slept with him just the day before he was admitted into the hospital. Who knows, I might even be pregnant with his baby. You can never have his baby no matter how much you like to be a woman.” Samantha said with a smirk.6
He truly wanted to pull off every strand of her blonde hair right then. The last sentence irked him more than anything. When had he ever behaved like a woman or even given the impression that he wanted to be a woman? He seethed silently realising he was bitching pretty much like a woman with Samantha.7
“What? Aren’t you going to say anything?” Samantha goaded him.8
“I didn’t come here to talk to you.” He hissed trying mentally to count to hundred and failing miserably. 9
“You mean you don’t know any smart come back.” Samantha said with a sneer.10
“No. I mean I don’t want to bicker with you like a girl and prove you right.” He muttered in exasperation.11
“Well you are gay and you want men. So you are technically a girl.” She said nonchalantly and Ty’s mouth dropped. Surely he couldn’t have heard it correctly. 12
“I am not a woman technically, physically or in any other way for your information.” He said his voice rising, a small voice in his head telling him he was getting himself into big trouble. There was nothing to prove here. Why was he even talking to her? He should be ignoring her completely, he thought. The baby started crying, sensing his agitation. 13
Samantha shook her head and asked “What have you done to him? What is a pervert like you doing with a baby anyway?”14
“Just shut up will you?” He growled and Samantha backed off finally, her eyes wide. The baby’s crying had grown louder too. It cooled him down suddenly. He looked concerned at the baby’s tear stained face and started rocking him to calm him down. He talked softly to the baby, hating himself for making him cry. Looking at him with wide, tear filled eyes, the baby grabbed a handful of his t-shirt looking at him. 15
It was then that he noticed Evelyn Fitzhugh was also in the room. She looked at Samantha and raised her hand to step her from talking “That’s enough. Leave now, Samantha.”16
“But, Aunt Evelyn..” Samantha started and stopped at the disapproving look on Evelyn Fitzhugh’s face. 17
As Samantha left, Victor’s grandmother stepped closer to him. Ty looked at her. She was a tall, thin woman who had a striking resemblance to both Samantha and Victor. She was one woman no one wanted as an enemy. It was alleged that she killed her gay husband with his gay lover. Looking at her, Ty didn’t doubt that much either. Her frosty ice blue eyes looked up at him and asked “Do you make a habit of bickering with women, Mister?” Evelyn Fitzhugh asked with a disapproving look.18
“No. Indeed I don’t do that at all usually.” He answered truthfully. 19
“Samantha does have a knack for getting on people’s nerves.” She said with a sigh.20
“Is that my great grandson?” she asked then without taking her eyes off the bundle he held protectively against his chest.21
Ty looked up warily and nodded. She looked at him carefully from head to toe and asked “And who might you be?”22
“Ty. Ty Fitzhugh.” He said. Victor’s grandmother’s head snapped up to his face at that. 23
“You have taken the Fitzhugh name.” She said giving him a point blank stare.24
“Yes. It’s the one name I can relate to. I am Victor’s as much as he’s mine in every way possible. We are as married as any couple except in name.” He said.25
“Hm. So you are the one over whom Victor was ready to give up everything for. Why are you here?” She asked as she looked at the baby again.26
“I came to ensure my baby’s safety in your hands. I also want to tell you Victor’s life is in danger.”He said curtly.27
That got her attention as she said “Explain.”28
Ty explained everything about the scientists, Victor’s cancer and himself to Victor’s grandmother including Dr. Reiner’s role in curing Victor’s cancer. 29
“So you are saying he’s in a critical condition now? What do you plan to do about it?” Evelyn Fitzhugh asked, her lips thinned in fury.30
“I will hand myself in. They had promised me the vaccines. I think if I go with your guards they couldn’t cheat on this arrangement and Evan would be safe with you.” He said.31
“Evan?” She asked curiously.32
“Yes. Me and Victor decided to call the boy Evan.” He explained. Ty looked at his baby one last time before handing the baby to Evelyn Fitzhugh. He was sleeping. 33
“That’s fine then. I’ll send my guards with you. Those bastards actually had the nerve to lie to me.” Evelyn Fitzhugh said sombrely as she took the baby and looked down upon him. Her eyes softened as she looked at the sleeping baby. For someone who screamed “off with their heads” for gay people, she had been easier to handle than Samantha. But then, Ty had the feeling that was because Victor’s grandmother knew he was already a sacrificial lamb. 34

Evelyn Fitzhugh doubted the intentions of the boy standing before him and saying bravely that he would do anything for Victor. In her mind, gay people did not love and that was the end of story. She took the baby out of the study, leaving the boy Victor was so fond of, in the study alone. A guard came closer to her when she signalled with her hands. 36
“Make sure he gets to the hospital and gets the vaccines from the doctors.” Victor’s grandmother said.37
“What if he struggles, ma’am?” The guard asked.38
“I said make sure.” She said as she looked up at him.39

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Dr. Levitt found what Jason had been doing to Victor and they were on the verge of despair over what could be done with Victor. He had already had two grand mal seizures and his body was overheating. Even though Jason did not tell them what drug he used on Victor, they identified it as Ecstasy from the high concentration of MDMA they found in his blood. They had already given him several injections to remove the effects of the drug from his system but his condition was critical at best.41

You update so fast which is just awesome! Maybe Victor's grandmother will have a change of heart when she sees how dedicated Ty is to him and what bad shape Victor is in.
I can't wait for more! This story just pulls at my heart.
