I have to start from the beginning.1
I lived in a big city called San Francisco, California. I had a wonderful2
life and a LOT of friends. School had just ended and i was so excited to 3
hang out with my friends, and show off my new bathing suit. Then my dad 4
came home.5
I had never lived with my dad before. he left when I was 2 and I never 6
saw him until now. He walked into my life like a unexpected storm, angry 7
and raging. I knew then why my mother had told him to leave, and I 8
secretly thanked her for sheltering me from this horrible man. He burst 9
into the house and demanded shared custody of me. His breath had a 10
horrible mix of alcohol and tobacco chew. I was deathly afraid of this 11
man, and all I wanted to do was stay next to my mother. 12
But she gave in, she was just as weak up against him as me. That week, I 13
went to live with my father and his girlfriend for the summer in his 14
dirty old apartment. That was the summer that I will never 15
forget.16
