'Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the place,
not a person was moving,
'cepting Jack, "the ace."1
His fingers he drummed,
on the table, in beats,
then, shuffled the cards
while tapping his feet.2
The bottles were set on the bar
with great care,
the bartender hoped,
he had enough, there.3
Waitresses hushed,
and eager to serve,
knowing they'd get
the tips they deserve.4
At last! Through the door,
who did we see?
Jeff, Tiger, Shane and T.C.,5
followed by Martin, One eye,
and Jack.
The bartender shouted,
"come on in, welcome back!"6
They were a strange mix,
various ages and sizes,
coming from them,
there were no surprises.7
They all said "hello",
then went straight to their seats,
took off their hats,
and rolled up their sleeves.8
Then, laying their cards aside,
one by one,
the seats emptied out,
the men headed home.9
Ace gave a big tip to
everyone in sight,
"Merry Christmas" he said,
"I was the winner tonight!"10

Woohoo! My brother, a serious poker player, would love this take on the classic. I think you did a great job with this.
"They all said "hello",
then went straight to their seats,
took off their hats,
and rolled up their sleeves.
Then, laying their cards aside,
one by one,
the seats emptied out,
the men headed home"
Brilliant stuff!

fun! I think the rhyming scheme got a little hard after the others showed up but otherwise very well done! I enjoyed it
