The Freak Show (Short School Version)

Tales of those behind bar,
Captured behind their will.
Unique beings left to scar,
And left for a cheap thrill.1

Raising a new generation,
On sex, greed and violence.
Watching this freak plantation,
Growing and nurturing our defiance.2

For then a time will come,
Where our defiance escapes,
Where all odds will sum,
Our true mind shapes.3

Where finally our humanity,
Has reached its mark,
Up for display our insanity,
And our fears of abnormality.4

For when we exploited them,
We knew long ago,
That we had gone to far,
When we started the Freak Show.

Author notes

Short Version of Freak Show Poems for a class. Wish me luck. It's written as if no one has read any other poem, although it doesn't matter much.
