Dear Lord1
I've been waiting a long time, I've seen the good and I've seen the bad, but somehow the good is pushed away, and its the bad that triumphs once again.2
I've seen many a good man die, always wanted to blame someone, but I couldn't bring myself to blame anyone but me, though after a while I started seeing how I was breaking the hearts I had helped sew up. I had told them it'll be okay, when I know that I was gonna make them cry.3
I told my little girl once that you would be watching after her while I was gone, that my mama was good one and she would hold her tight... that if she cried you would hear her. She told me it'd be okay and I couldn't help but smile...4
How can little Angel's be stronger then the old ones? How can they stand there and never shed a tear? How do they look at you in the eyes and tell you 'daddy it'll be okay.'? How can little Angel's be so strong and hold up their heads telling the falling that someday we'll be alright again?5
I just wanted to pray to you now too take care of them, I pray that my gun is taut and I will run fast, that if I don't come back, too look down once in a while and hold that little Angel tight, if you could tell her that I miss her more then she can know.6
I pray to you, Lord as I fly in, that if I don't come back to keep an eye on her as she grows older, be her shoulder when her first date doesn't make it, smile proudly when she tells you she is in-love, be the tears when you watch her growing up, and be the father to walk her down the isle, be the daddy that she never had.7
Lord, I pray, just keep my baby safe.8
