This is a good line
But it isnt the best definition of human nature... Personally I love this description of human nature:
"You can’t quit until you try
You can’t live until you die
You can’t learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie
You can’t breathe until you choke

I know you were trying to limit it to one line, but this is definitely a good way to describe it, wouldn't you agree?
Basically, it is trying to open our eyes to the fact that life isn't as bad as we make it out to be, we may be dying now, but that only means we can live later, we may be lying, but eventually we will be able to tell the truth, and the only way to really feel alive is if you witness death. The last line of that song, is spoken, and it goes:
"When you've lost it all, that's when you finally realize that life is beautiful."
That line, I think describes it well.

off of my rant about that incredible song, you quote is very deep on its own too. We have to live with regret, and we can't change what has already happened; we can only change what will happen.

I would like it more whitout the part after the dots.
"No matter how hard you try, you can go back... " is beautifull.... leaves you thinking... wondering: you can`t go back in time, you can`t go back to the primordial being, you can`t go back to inocence.....
