Nothingness was everywhere. 1
Dark? Couldn't tell, for who had seen light? 2
But there it was; a cold, damp blanket snuffing out any whimpering attempts at life. There was no time; no space. Everything was absolute Zero.3
But nothingness, like everything else, needs its nemesis to exist. The Force was there. It was everywhere, intertwined with the gnarled strands of nothingness. But it lay dormant, waiting for the right patterns of randomness to be created by the threads of Zero. Restlessly they moved, Infinity and Zero slithering by each other in oblivion. The fabric would have glistened had there been a source of energy to shower it. 4
And then it happened. The patterns slid into place. A stray strand of Zero brushed past the Force, igniting it. A chain of sparklers went off, energy leaped from one knot to the other in the infinite tapestry. The Force grew large, spewing mellifluous rhythms of energy. Waves played playfully with each other, dancing in the ecstasy of existence. Chaos played the puppet-master, the waves danced to his tunes. Uniting, dividing, absorbing, evolving, they created endless forms. Life was beginning to take birth.5
Amoeba, dolphins, pine trees, ant-eaters, monkeys, humans and eagles were startled into existence. Born through chance encounters of Infinity and Zero, they each encapsulated a part of the Force. With life, there had to be death. For love, there had to be hate. Everything needed its polar partner to be definable.
There was fire and water, black and white, good and evil. 6
Thoughts, ideas, personalities, emotions took shape as the myriad colours of energy intermingled in innocent freedom. The Force was ubiquitous now; the universe a child of the destined union of All and Nothing. Matter was no longer a lifeless chunk of dormant energy. It throbbed with the passion of a thousand universes yearning to break free; young and impetuous, but eager to taste sweet independence. Stars and planets separated, each starting its own routine. Self-sustaining fires burnt within them, remnants of the mighty Force which bore life.7
