The Only One (cont'd)

His name was Mark and he loved her. He only wished he would've told her. Maybe it would've changed her mind. Maybe not.1

He didn't know why she did it. No one did. She was found by her father in her bedroom. She shot herself. That was all that was known.2

Mark was as confused as everyone else was. Nobody noticed anything different about her. She acted as if nothing was wrong. Maybe she tried to do that.3

All he knew was that he loved her. He loved her with all his heart. Everybody thought he had feelings for another girl. He liked it that way. No one would knew who he really loved.4

He used to be a funny guy. He wasn't anymore. He lost the one that he loved and he didn't know why. Why had she done this? It had ruined his life. He spent his days alone in his room staring at a wall or occasionally watching TV. He was all alone. 5

Sure, he had other friends, but not like her. She was his reason for living, he thought. At times, he was suicidal. But he didn't want to do to others what she had done to him.6

Mark's family noticed something was up and tried to talk to him several times. Eventually, he went to a doctor who prescribed anti-depressants and he had therapy twice a week.7

People started to stay away from him. He wasn't any fun anymore since the girl died. It was as if his depression was a disease and they'd catch it if they got to close.8

Mark cried every night. He had a picture of her on his wall and stared at her face until he cried himself to sleep. He didn't want to live this way but he didn't have a choice. He had ruled out the thought of suicide and there was no other option. 9

There was no way that he would get over her. He loved her too much. He would live this way for the rest of his life and never know why his best friend and the girl he loved took her life.10

Mark stared at her picture when he went to bed. His pillow was already soaked but he didn't care. He cried and cried and her picture was the last thing he saw as he drifted to sleep.11
