"We're moving!"1

Her parents had sprung the surprise on her and it was certainly effective.  Kitty had almost cried with shock. They were moving? And leaving all her friends? In unhappiness, Kitty had ran up to her room and locked herself in, crying herself to sleep. 2

It had been quite awile when she woke up. In fact, when she woke up she felt like she was in a different place. 3

Kitty jolted up. The bus was stopping. It was the end of it route. Kitty realised with a start. No wonder her bedroom felt different. It was different to her old bedroom. And no wonder she looked different. She was two years older!5

She had slept for two years! Stepping of the bus, Kitty was confused. She didn't know where she was or how she got here. But she knew one thing. Her parents were not her real parents! That was why she had been having dreams about a strange underground place, far under the surface where mutants lived and rouges were aplenty.6

And that was why she was half cat! She was what that theif had called her in her dream. A mutant dream-cat. A being that can change from human to cat, but because she was half mutant she could be any sort of cat she wanted, be it a wildcat or a housecat. But because she had stopped the mutation, she was stuck like this, half-cat and half-girl.7

What was she to do?
