Jen’ika awoke with a start. She had been dreaming deeply—dreaming of horrible things. Now as she sat up in her bed she began to recall the most recent horror her visions had shown her. She stared out the cottage window at the peaceful village, now in the embrace of sleep. The guards patrolled silently, quietly joking with each other, unaware of what was to come.1
Ever since she could remember, Jen’ika had been having visions. Visions of tragedies to come. Visions that haunted her every waking moment. Generally her visions did not make sense or showed places she had never been. However, lately they had been visions of her village in peril or her family suffering horrible fates. Horrible images of the village burning, of raiders pillaging the houses, or of her family being murdered. Much like the vision that startled her out of her deep slumber and into the throes of fear and anxiety.2
As she stared out the window on the quiet village, Jen’ika began to think of all the times when she had tried to stop her visions from coming true. Of all the times when she was ignored and looked on as if she was crazy, and the one time that she was believed. It was seven years ago to this day on a night very much like this one. She had been sleeping for a good four hours before she abruptly awoke to hear herself screaming.3

Visions... very nice. this is a nice begining, the way you described her disturbing visions was nice. i like that you made it more beleivable and gritty when you said that none believed her which would be very true but also how you gave her hope with how one person once believed her. i can't wait for the flashback sequence, really cool. more soon?

Brilliant I love characters with unusual gifts as I'm sure you have noticed and this sounds like it could be a great story!!! Keep going.
