A New Being (Part 1)

Sandrine stared out the window unable to meet Jadin's eyes. "Look at me.", he said, "Just look at me."
Yet she wasn't able to move, her throat felt like it was on fire and tears threatened to stream from her eyes. He sighed and stroked a finger on her face, such a small gesture that gave her a rush of emotions. Hate, love, and passion is all she felt for him. He placed a finger on her chin and turned her face to him.
"I'll return..." He stressed
She closed her eyes as if she couldn't hear him. It was a lie is what she thought. He will return and be a completely different person, they both will have changed, grown, and drifted apart in a way.
"I'll be gone for only a few months..." He continued
She focused harder on pushing his words away. She thought she had finally fallen in love for sure and here he was leaving her. Abandoning her to travel with his friends. She felt jealous of him leaving, envious that he could, angry because she could not go and had to be alone, and sad because Jadin would be gone.
"Please don't be upset..." He kept going on and on about how he will return for her.
She shut her eyes harder. Lies, she knew it was a lie. Pride would not let her cry and she felt her wounded heart ice over. In her heart he had already gone, he had already gotten on that plane and had left.
"Olivia, I love you." Jadin had watched as she shut him out until he uttered those words. Her eyes fluttered open and a small smile came to her lips.
"Finally, a truth", is what came to her mind.
"I know Jadin, I know.", She finally sighed taking his hand in hers, "Go and enjoy your trip. I'll be here when you return."
Jadin watched as her eyes filmed over. He knew that she did not expect him to feel the same about her when he did in fact return. She was giving up on him without the slightest trust that he will always love her just as passionately as he does now.
"Damn you, Olivia.", He pulled his hand away and watched her eyes widen in surprise, "You don't ever give anyone the chance to love you properly. You have no trust that someone truly and always will love you. So, damn you."
Her smile returned bigger now, her head cocked to the side with interest.
"I do know you love me Jadin...But while you are away your mind will..."
He put a finger to her lips to cut her off.
"Stop analyzing me like I'm a science experiment. Stop acting like you actually know what's going to happen." He glared at her.
"I am just saying people change.", She shrugged, " I just don't want to get hurt." She put her head in her hands.
"I wouldn't hurt you." Jadin promised looking sincere.
"You already have...Your leaving me..." Olivia turned again, but before she closed him out again he caught her head in his hands and kissed her. He kissed her so passionately that it took her breath away.
"I have to go, but remember I love you."
With that he walked out of the door, out of her life for three months. A lot can happen in that time. She smiled after him, then looked sad, and then frowned because she knew he would change. He wouldn't be the man she fell in love with, but someone else entirely. Something else to be exact.
What she couldn't see was that she herself would go on a journey to prepare her for Jadin's return...

Ok, I'll start off saying that you need to fix your line spacing. It's a bit difficult to read this on the computer.

And, when I read the character's name, I thought it was "Sardine." Maybe a different name would help the readers not picture a fish?

Your pronouns get confusing. Is Sandrine or Jadin the man? You never really tell us. And you don't tell us what they look like or what they're relationship has been.

There's a lot of missing details in this story. But, it's still mildly interesting. I'd say just add more details and a little more non-cliche emotion, and you've got a story.

Good start, but don't stop just yet.
