The Pussy Willow

Every day she makes her rounds in the house. She vacuums the upstairs hallway, the den, and the front rug. She feeds the cats, and lets them out, cleans up their messes. Then she waters the plants, humming as she does. One day, I stare at her as she waters a pussy willow and say, “It's fake.”

A short short for class two years ago. Going through my old files and realized how much I really liked it.
