for my son...not finished

Waking every day with a new sense of accomplishment to my life2

Never wanting to wake up before3

Now up before the alarm4

Downstairs to get breakfast5

Turning on the early morning cartoons6

And feeling the warmth of the sun that is just now shining through7

So selfish before8

Only thinking about me9

Oh how you can be so foolish when you are young10

Taken me a long time to realize11

Never had anything like this before12

Knowing that I will spend my life making all of this up to you13

How complete my life existence is now that I have you in my world 14

Somehow the idiocracy of why we are here is masked by 15

beautiful smiles in the morning 16

Sleep, stay awhile 17

And try to understand 18

most of the problems that may come our way19

I will be your shield20

    Beautiful

    I love it, it describes the feeling in full that a mother has with her son, the connection
    I understand a little bit of that connection
    but I cannot relate all to well because im a dad not a mom
    but I think you described it beautifully

    Amazing work This could be converted to a poem, which would probably suit it very well. I don't really have anything that would add to this I think it's fine just the way it is.
